Heck yes they’re a concern.
I hear from very reliable sources the ties between the Kentucky League of Cities and Kentucky Retirement Systems are so tight, in fact, that a KRS big dog designed the KLC’s bogus retirement packages. The individual allegedly responsible is currently a KRS executive and he is apparently quite close (not in THAT kind of way, not implying that in the least) to Sylvia Lovely.
The KLC has contributed to board elections at KRS in the past and there’s one coming up soon for state employees: January 15th through February 28th. Which leads me to believe there exists a major reason for sweetening up KLC deals.
I’m more than a little concerned.
When’s the KRS audit coming, Crit?
P.S. Look how bloated the KRS staff is. You’ll wet yourself when you scroll down the page.

Auditor Luallen should also consider an audit of the aread development districts and their state state association.

What really confuses me is how they have a director with only a couple of employees under them. But then, many state agencies are heavy on bosses – one boss for two employees, for example. That is something I’d like to see examined across state government. If a boss doesn’t have at least 5 employees reporting directly to them, it is time to reorganize.

Shouldn’t this staff be listed under the CJ’s salary database? Can’t find one of them.

OMG! I thought Schyler Olt was really an artist who just kind of did the attorney gig on the side! I am chagrined in probably the same way some might have been when meeting Clark Kent and later finding out in the funny papers he was really Superman. Except I found out on the internet. Good Lord! I have to go to bed now.

If an agency is subject to Kentucky Open Records, their salaries should be open.

I now regret my feeble attempt at humor regarding Schyler Olt. I have learned it was very much misinterpreted, and I am very sorry about that. I take it back. Mr. Olt is a very talented and muti- faceted individual who seems sincere in all his undertakings, as far as I have ever known. In no way did I, by my earlier spur of the moment comments, mean to disparage him in any way. He really is a good guy, and I guess I was just surprised to have known him in a more “artsy” way, only to find out he was in a position that could very well help provide some valuable insight to me on my current pet peeve, which is the 2005 HB 299 and how it will affect us. In that sense, he really could be a superman. It is difficult to find answers, but if he can help, I believe he will.
