Oh Snap Monday! KLC Scandal Just Won’t Quit

December 21st, 2009 · No Comments

Congratulations to Allison Gardner Martin and family on the brand new baby. We’re sure Sloan will turn into a princess in no time.

David Adams is accusing Trey Grayson of linking arms with the left-wing blogosphere. Which is exactly what David Adams does when he calls me 24/7 begging for attention and coverage. Which is exactly what he does when he tries to tip me off to something. Which is exactly what he does when he encourages people to go after people like Chris Hightower, which he very much did (there’s proof, David, you lying hack). And who is this Donald Gross “scientist” from the University of Kentucky who is suggesting that finding offense in a photograph of an African American hanging from a tree is merely “political correctness going amok” ?? [Roger Alford]

Adams and Paul can keep hoping that this is the last they’ve heard of their ignorant little racist mess. [Barefoot & Progressive]

The United States Postal Service is suffering from a severe case of Bob Arnold and Sylvia Lovely syndrome. [CNN]

Oh, look, the KLC’s NewCities Institute may not be as legit as once thought. Only fitting that Sylvia Lovely’s son works(ed?) there, right? And only fitting that Jim Newberry spent thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars on the farce of a “think tank.” [Linda Blackford & Ryan Alessi]

Maybe Lexington wouldn’t be up such a crappy creek if Jim Newberry hadn’t spent tens of thousands of dollars on silly things like retreats over the years. [Rick Howlett]

Woops. Kentucky loses another battery plant. [C-J]

Another reason Jim Newberry is a hated man: killing off health care coverage for 20 agencies in Lexington. I mean, really, not paying for health insurance at the COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT? [H-L]

That Rand Paul sure makes Jim Bunning look good right about now. Especially now that his campaign and former spokesperson are the laughing stock of the internets. [Wonkette]

Sorry, King Coal, we’ve already waited for the “end result” and we already know mining’s effect on land. We don’t have to wait any longer. [Peter Smith]

Guess it’s only fitting that a few churches would attempt to slurry (heh) the waters of the mining debate. Yeah, it’s totally “God’s” work, that mountaintop removal. It’s what Jeebus wants! Kill your environment and your people! That’s the biblical thing to do! Is there nothing they can’t use religion to pervert? [More Peter Smith]

Pee Alert: CentrePit, CentrePasture – what’s next? “Efforts to build the 35-story CentrePointe tower seem to be as dead as developer Dudley Webb’s mysterious financier.” [Tom Eblen]
