Oh snap. Jim Gray called an emergency meeting of the the L-Fugcjkkjue380 (I can never remember all those letters that sound like a bad word) Council on Friday:

Due to the Administration’s decision to close fire stations the Council is extremely concerned for the safety of our citizens. With the support of Council, VM Gray has called an emergency meeting of the Committee of the Whole,for Tuesday, December 22, at 1 p.m. It will be held in Council Chambers and will be on GTV 3. While this is during Council break we do have a quorum to attend. Many of us have changed our family and holiday plans because this is such an urgent issue.

The agenda will include a review of the current budget forecast by Finance and a presentation by the Fire Department on its budget reduction plans.

And there you have it. Jim Gray knows that it’s important to protect Lexington while Jim Newberry wants you all to end up barbecued in a fire because the firemenz are all, you know, not working because Jim Newberry thinks that’s a good idea.
