You know, sometimes you feel like giving a person the benefit of the doubt.
Until they open their mouth and the stupid comes tumbling out.
Like with Arthur Byrn, Kentucky League of Cities’ insurance services board chairman, the guy who makes money selling KLC’s products.
He says there’s no conflict of interest there and he just doesn’t understand why everyone has their manties in a twist.
I’d bet money Ryan Alessi was rolling his eyes really hard as he wrote this story.
No wonder nothing ever happened to stop him from selling the very products for which he is responsible. And no wonder he never did or said anything about Sylvia Lovely’s corruption:
Leaders like Mayor Byrn inspire us all to do better. Mayfield survived their moment of crisis because of the sheer force of leadership and foresight. Mayfield also survived because of the resilience and “can do” spirit of its citizens. We all should learn these lessons of leadership, vision, and resilience. Is your city prepared? Are you?
Byrn was too busy getting his rear end kissed in massive puff letters by Miss Britney.
I encourage you to dig through KLC’s Twitter machine (note the embarrassing misspelling) and Facebook profile. All kinds of juicy tidbits and interesting photos we should be saving for posterity. Shots of Jim Newberry, David Tandy, Ben Chandler, Jonathan Miller & Joe Meyer, Sylvia Lovely receiving a key to the city in Covington.
Ah, so much fun.
Some samples of the photos can be found after the jump…
