I believe his name is Jim Gray, Lexington’s Vice Mayor and newest Mayoral candidate.
Here’s a statement from him on his candidacy:
“Three years as Vice-Mayor has given me a unique perspective on our city, our people, and the leadership Lexington needs.
“Whether you run a small business, run a machine in a factory, or run a household, these are uniquely challenging and uncertain times for the people of Lexington. And in uncertain times, Lexington desperately needs strong, steady leadership – leadership to revitalize our economy and restore faith in our city’s government.
“I spent thirty-six years in the private sector, creating jobs and economic growth. And I’ve now spent three years in public service, where I’ve seen the challenges up close, been an agent of change, and become fully prepared to lead our city.
“In challenging and uncertain economic times like these, we need a mayor with vision, and the unique blend of business and government experience required to bring our city together and move it forward. That’s exactly the kind of mayor I’m prepared to be, and that’s exactly why I’m announcing my candidacy today.
“Let me also be very clear: I’m not running for mayor because I think Jim Newberry’s a bad person; I’m running for mayor because I think Jim’s made bad decisions. And what’s frustrating to me and so many others is that those bad decisions were avoidable.
“We need a fresh start. Lexington needs a new mayor.”
Lexington has a bright future if he wins.

Jim Gray is a good man. In all ways. It’s a shame that he has not felt comfortable stepping up to the plate before now: Lexington would be the better if he had.
As he said, it’s not that Jim Newberry is a bad person. He’s not. But, he’s made bad decisions as Mayor. Teresa Isaac (T.I.) is just an idiot, in case no one’s noticed.
I’m glad to see Gray’s hat in the ring …
