Jack Conway issued this statement on Friday in response to the passage of the Bennett Amendment to protect old people “seniors”:

”It is of the utmost importance to me to protect Kentucky’s seniors. Senator Michael Bennett’s (D-CO) measure will preserve guaranteed benefits for the 720,000 Medicare beneficiaries in the Commonwealth. Further, this amendment increases Medicare benefits, lowers premiums and improves access to the program, making it easier for seniors to receive the vital medical services they need.

“I applaud the efforts of the Senate in passing this amendment and I urge them to continue on the path toward meaningful healthcare reform for our seniors, women, working families and all Americans.”
