Couldn’t Make This Chandler Bit Up If I Tried

Remember the ivy leaguer who was excoriated for her embarrassingly dumb letter to the Washington Post last year?

From Gawker:

Oh my God, guess what? An Ivy League education may not be the key to success, riches and true happiness after all! Recent Dartmouth grad Jennifer Krimm’s Sunday piece in the Washington Post has earned her IvyGate’s totally righteous ire. Kentucky public school kid Krimm is an Arabic-speaking Fulbright scholar and former White House intern, and she’s pissed that all that resume-packing and bootstrapping hasn’t landed her an appropriately impressive job. How dare America do this to her?

And from Ivy Gate:

Stop the presses! Dartmouth grad Jennifer Krimm (’06) has a killer resume, knows Arabic, and was president of her senior class. And she’s unemployed! And, since such a tragic turn of events — 20-something between jobs, craving tasteful work in non-profit sector — has never happened before, the Washington Post saw fit to publish Ms. Krimm’s MySpace blog rant eloquent musings.

Humiliating. Everyone knows it’s only okay if it’s an indie bookstore. Otherwise you’re forced to interact with icky normal people who drink wine out of boxes and don’t even know who Proust is, when you are a quarter of the way through the first book of Remembrance of Things Past, and even though it’s slow and kinda boring, you totally like it, because you are totally smart, and spent enough money on your education to own, like, several small houses in a shitty part of town.

Remember her? Click here to read her entire piece, just in case you don’t. And then check out reader reactions to her hilariously snobby diatribe.

And since you probably don’t remember who Jennifer Krimm is? She’s Ben Chandler’s Communications Director.

Oh, the hilarity. Sense of entitlement, indeed.

For some reason, I don’t find Krimm’s piece to be all that deserving of the scorn everyone seems to be heaping on it.

I read many of the comments and ran across this one. A little Nostradamus like wouldn’t you say.

    ……
Who writes a letter to the Washington Post after they fail to get a job at Brookings and claims it is a signal of recession/coming apocalypse? Who does that?
