It’s not surprising that David Tandy has flip-flopped on the Swift-Butchertown battle. This political empty suit couldn’t pick an issue and stick to it if his career depended on it. It’s a shame he doesn’t have the courage not to flip-flop. [The 'Ville Voice]

Actually, princess, I’m complaining about the nearly 2,000 PDFs sent from other offices – not just Mongiardo’s. Costing hundreds of hours and potentially thousands of dollars. Apparently, Republicans only think waste on the state government level is worth talking about if it’s something they pull out of their ass. Like providing health care or food for the poor. Or, wait, unemployment. You know how that damn nanny state is. [Republicans Never Stop]

Looks like Louisville will have cloud cover and rain showers overnight — not good for watching the Leonids.

Did you bother to read the link about the PDFs and unemployment checks? The state is sending TWO checks each week, at twice the printing cost and twice the postage, when one check combining the two amounts would do. I’ve seen this first-hand. It’s like me writing two checks to the sheriff for two pieces of property that I owe taxes on, and mailing them in two separate envelopes, when one check for the total amount and one envelope and one stamp would do.

Make that every two weeks, not every week. That’s how often unemployment checks are sent out. No one’s complaining about people getting unemployment. The state is spending twice as much as it should in distributing those checks. That’s the problem.

Yup, I read it.
Did you bother recognizing the hypocrisy of differentiating between waste?
I also saw no initiative on anyone’s part to determine whether or not there’s a legal requirement or necessity to process and mail two separate checks.

I would think that there might be a budgeting/accounting reason for writing two checks but not the mailing of them.
