Ben Chandler is a spineless piece of horse shit. He voted to make abortion illegal for both public AND private insurance plans taking part in an insurance exchange. Time to buy lots of stock in wire hangers! [Page One]
Ben Chandler is now on his own. Such hypocrisy. [Barefoot & Progressive]
The House voted to kill your grandmother and all Christians, 220-215. Check out the great image of Nancy Pelosi. [Wonkette]
What is it with the right-wing and racism– particularly against those of Asian descent? [More Wonkette]
Oh, look, we got Marty Cockring into another tizzy. Gurl, somebody’s ladygarment is all atwist! We need help, according to Ms. Cockring, and he alleges that I’m suffering from chemical-induced delusions. Guess that’s better than being a “heterosexual” who is obsessed with the queers. He and his buddy Ken Doll probably sit at home mutually you-know-whatting each other as they talk about how badly they hate all them dang queers. [Marty Cockring]
Steve Nunn’s digital files were searched. Nude photographs of Amanda Ross were found on fliers. What a terribly depressing story. [H-L]
Can’t let those silly facts or reality get in the way of a good Obama smear, can you? After all, he’s a scary black man and we have to protect our white women and such. [HuffPo]
Wait for it… Hal Rogers is actually hampering the prescription drug abuse fight in Kentucky! Imagine that. Old Hal “pork for my son’s company” Rogers is hurting the very thing he pretends to be working to support. [Halimah Abdullah]
Police are entertaining the idea that U.S. Census worker Bill Sparkman killed himself. [AP]
Steve Nunn was indicted on six counts of wanton endangerment in Hart County. [C-J]
First the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government rubber-stamps Jim Newberry’s ridiculous CentrePointe disgrace, rubber-stamps the corruption of Dudley Webb in relation to CentrePointe and now that group of critters is suing the Herald-Leader because it alleges the paper treats is unfairly with advertising rates? And, really, seeking damages? I think it’s time for the paper of record to dig into the dealings of every single council member in Lexington post-haste. Cause somebody’s panties are in a twist and they’re retaliating. [H-L]
Jack Conway has between $1.1 million and $5.5 million in assets and between $1 million and $5 million in liabilities. Daniel Mongiardo has between $665,022 and $1.7 million in assets and between $730,000 and $1.6 million in liabilities. Rand Paul’s assets are between $446,006 and $1 million, his liabilities between $202,002 and $500,000. Trey Grayson’s assets between $11,011 and $165,000 and has no liabilities. What was that about Grayson being a disconnected rich guy and Lt. Dan being some poor, broke, everyday Eastern Kentuckian? [Joe Gerth]
Many AOC employees got 20% raises just before dozens were laid off. This is while executive level folks like Lt. Dan and Papaw Steve took ten percent pay cuts. No wonder there is tremendous unrest within the Administrative Office of the Court. [H-L]

Yet again Joe Gerth publicly declares for Mongiatardo by editorializing in his lead on a “news” story and then using modifier “only” to describe the amount of money the candidate took from his medical practice, as in “He accepted only $10,000 in salary from his doctor’s office…”
Like DM deserves credit for that? Only ten grand? What’s he doing to earn that ten grand? Treating patients in between getting his childbeardbride pregnant, dissing his boss, and lying to constituents? Because he sure isn’t doing anything for Kentucky.
Regardless, a professional journalist or editor would not have used such a modifier in that context.

In regards to AOC; it’s admission that these high level employees were not putting in a full day of work already if they have time to take on other duties. In other words, they were already over paid for what they were doing so why do they need a 20% raise? This exactly why there needs to be at least a little glimmer of transparency of what is going on in AOC.

Some of those high level employees where also the ones who decided which jobs to get rid of. But hey, the Budget Director needed to pay for that brand new 7 series BMW.
