If it's a "fat tax," then don't apply it to diet soda. I don't know how I survived before Diet Ale-8 was invented.

Regarding the Huffington Post item, about a month ago I was surveyed about "high fructose corn syrup," but don't know who was responsible for it. The poll had the most confusing questions I've ever heard, and I told the interviewer I had no idea what he was talking about, but he pressed on. So when you start seeing poll results about how much voters think high fructose corn syrup is wonderful/evil and should be taxed/not taxed, don't believe a word of it.

I guess we've been insane on the internet for a long time Jake. Good for you to notice. However, still civil enough not to hire people to be video stalkers at pancake breakfasts for the elderly or blast one of the seven dirty words on the mic at a church picnic.

There could be a nasty fight brewing between Mitch McConnell and his radical GOP Senate colleagues.

Interesting story on Talking Points that says Sen. Jim DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund is endorsing Republican candidates who embrace their teabagging agenda. That may not include Trey Grayson.

DeMint said he wanted to "harness the energy" he saw during the tea parties.

DeMint outlined the need for a conservative candidate in the competitive senate races in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Texas.

DeMint said there are "two good candidates" in Kentucky, but he seemed to be leaning toward Rand Paul over Trey Grayson.

Erickson (of RedState.com) noted that Grayson was once a Democrat and now is the "favorite" of the Republican establishment while Paul (Ron Paul's son) is "anything but an insider."

DeMint added that Paul is "not a radical rightwing nut" and is "dead-on" when it comes to principles of freedom. The snap poll of callers mostly supported Paul, who has a slight lead in the early official polls.

So, are Mitch and Trey getting in the teabag with DeMint, or they gonna let Rand Paul be the conservative in the race?

Rand Paul is not a birther.

The strong hint of fear and desperation is very strong here and on BFAP. I guess it's time to throw everything at Paul and pray to God something mildly sticks. Cause right now, it is all falling flat.
