It’s Tuesday & Kentucky Can’t Have Nice Things

October 27th, 2009 · 6 Comments

What the crap is with these stimulus reports? Can’t this country get things in check long enough to know where our money is going? Apparently not. [C-J]

Maybe The Times Leader could learn the difference between “democrat” and “democratic.” [Hot Mess]

RNC allowing racist Obama material to permeate its internet presence? Surely not! [Raw Story]

Marty Cockring and other Republicans are upset that Dan Kelly got a fancy new job. They can’t accept that there will be one less gay-hating vote in the state legislature. [Tom Loftus]

Mitch McConnell is still lying about Americans supporting health care reform. [The Hill]

Trey Grayson was on Issues & Answers. [WYMT]

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is backing Jack Conway. You can bet Lt. Dan will try unsuccessfully spinning that. [CQ Politics]

Papaw Beshear is now defending his appointment of Dan Kelly to a judgeship. [WFPL]

Speaking of spin, that’s all Kim Geveden and Lt. Dan have going for them. Check this mess of spin about Lt. Dan’s quarterly numbers. Apparently they still think he outperformed everyone else on earth? [Joe Arnold]

There’s a huge catfight going down in Lexington over the silly Wildcat Coal Lodge. The Herald-Leader’s editorial board chapped some rear-end over the mess. [H-L & More H-L]

Census worker Bill Sparkman finally got a worthy memorial service. Meanwhile, no one knows anything, ever, and people are left in the cold in Eastern Kentucky. [C-J]

“Mitch’s Lying Eyes on Health Care”

McConnell is at it again. He simply cannot control his mouth and lies on the health care issue. New polls show that the public is obviously for the public option (regardless of Mitch’s prevarications otherwise). Also, he never mentions that the pure public option is also the biggest money saver for the public. Of course, Mitch’s “public” are the big lobbyists, insurance companies and health industry corporations that want to minimize real health care in this country and amass huge gains for themselves. He is the High Priest for private profits for the already immensely wealthy.

Grayson interview! He’s alive! He’s alive! I thought that plane went down after the second (or third I can’t remember) announcement tour. Whew. Thank God he’s OK. Cought the interview too. Talked a lot about Rand Paul not being a Kentuckian since he didn’t fight off Natives like his ancestors. Lot more about Trey liking long walks on the beach, being a dog person, and all the issues he has posted on his website for the voters of Kentucky … well, OK, there was the bit about the beach and dogs.

    Rod:

Could you elaborate a bit more about his interview?

(I haven’t had a chance to check it out)

Jake, was as to be expected from Trey … extremely vanilla on issues except for the “Rand Paul’s not a Kentuckian” flap … which was really the only memorable thing I would guess. But, in Trey’s defense, he did finally put some vanilla issues on his website. It only took him 181 days:)

I really enjoy your writing style, BTW …

Thanks… but I wouldn’t exactly call this “writing” – ha!
