Dear Conway: Time to Take This Race Seriously

October 21st, 2009 · 6 Comments

Jack Conway recently appeared on Issues & Answers: The Mountain Edition. As I predicted, he has flip-flopped and is speaking out against cap and trade legislation.

One issue discussed is the cap and trade bill, which Conway says he doesn’t support.

“On average, the cap and trade bill passing through the Senate would cost the average family $1800 a year. That’s too much, and it’s unacceptable,” Conway said.

In-person, Jack supports cap and trade. But on television in Eastern Kentucky he doesn’t?

This kind of political double standard and lack of campaign aggression is precisely what will hand Daniel Mongiardo the nomination – even after all the crap Lt. Dan has said about him, the governor, state employees and the U.S. Senate.

Click here to watch the video of Conway’s interview.

Click here to contact Jack Conway and let him know he can’t have his cake and eat it too. Feel free to flood his campaign office with telephone calls at (502) 632-1820. Let him know it’s time to sack up and take this U.S. Senate race seriously.

Conway’s due for a wake-up call. Maybe this is it? It’s time for him to wake up from bungling SOB Gate. Time for him to wake up from allowing Lt. Dan to control the conversation. Maybe also time for him to wake up to the realization that he needs to hire competent campaign staff instead of stringing people along and dragging his political feet. Otherwise, his political future is OVER.

Conways flip flop on Mountaintop Removal Mining is disturbing. If any Democrat believes the Coal Industry will be supporting them in a general election, they are delusional.
Mongardio is full bore into sucking up to the Coal Industry and it seems ole Jack is starting that way. Sad.

You still don’t get it, do you?
Conway is an empty suit, a photogenic candidate from central casting. There’s no “there” there.

Having had policy-based discussions with both Conway and Mongiardo, I can say neither are empty suits.

But Jack sure the heck has more under his hat that I’m agreeable with.

Good for Jack! If you think KY is poor and backwards now, just wait and see if cap’n'trade passes. Power rates here will jump and the state’s one true advantage to lure manufacturers will evaporate overnight…sorta like the horses that are leaving the state. It’s simple math. Power rates go up and KY loses!

Conway is looking at the issue from multiple perspectives and therefore he is cautiously not fully committing.

The only story here is that Conway has room in his head to consider two perspectives at once, while the other three stooges do not.

Mongiardo isn’t even controlling his private conversations, it’s a stretch to say he’s in control of a public one.
