As a Catholic and a Libertarian, this is one I wrestle with myself.
What it comes down to for me, is that as a Libertarian I believe that no person has the right to infringe upon another’s basic constitutional rights. Primary amongst these is a right to life.

For me personally, I do have some issues with the state inserting itself into the doctor/patient relationship…as well…I have problems with the state not protecting the rights of the unborn.

Yeah…I’m somewhat conflicted…I admit it.

But in the end, I personally have to place the right to life ahead of the right to choose.
I also happen to be opposed to the death penalty.

He’s a registered republican that espouses many Libertarian beliefs…it’s not that complicated.

Rand Paul is not a libertarian, has never been one, has never said he is one and is not running as one.

He is a conservative and a republican.
