Really? Tapping school reserve funds in the upcoming budget crisis? This is why Kentuckians remain uneducated. This is why Appalachia remains poverty-stricken and beaten down. This is why Kentucky does not move forward. Because our elected officials think education is optional. Maybe Greg Stumbo should wake up once in a while and recognize that money could be saved by stopping the subsidies for coal? Or maybe we could save money by pushing real tax reform? Yeah, lost causes. [Tom Loftus]

Can Rand Paul win the U.S. Senate race? Not if he continues to talk around questions. Definitely not if he can’t get more support inside Kentucky. [Joe Gerth]

The real question is…can the other Senate candidates win if they don’t talk about any of the issues?
Seems as though all they can talk about is their feelings about fellow representatives or their fund raising successes and failures (not that that’s not entertaining).

Rand Paul is wrong for Kentucky. In fact when it comes to his political beliefs, he’s just Too Kooky for Kentucky.

How is the world do politician like Greg Stumbo and David Williams keep getting re-elected?
Why doesn’t the opposing party of Stumbo and Williams find, any candidate or a box of rocks for that matter, someone to run against them and pour tons of money into those county races to defeat them.
Is there a secret agreement between each party’s leadership to not take out each other out? Or are the people in Stumbo’s and Williams districts totally stupid and cannot see what is going on in this state and their region.
Both are from eastern Kentucky and nothing improves for their areas so why do they keep voting them into office?????

Does anyone know why the Governor is so hell-bent on going around the proper procedures for opening those hospitals?
I’m always told I need to “choose my battles.” This one just seems like it’s a red herring.

schools hiding away taxpayer dollars for so-called rainy day funds is bad policy. while administrations collect interest they make already struggling moms and dads, foster parents and others buy supplies and other things too often wasted. tax dollars are for today’s real needs and not for hording. this money belongs to the hardworking earner until real need. it doesn’t belong to a bunch of stupid superintendents and rubber stamp school boards. no wonder this state sucks hind tit in jsut about everything.
