You going to the Kentucky Democratic Party thingy tomorrow? Make sure you ask the Governor why he won’t tell the truth about his terrible relationship with Daniel Mongiardo. Maybe ask everyone where Lt. Dan happens to be. Maybe he’s in Chicago? [Page One]

A stripper in Congress? Now there is a skill set that is highly applicable to Congress.
Plying taxpayers to give you more money, while convincing them that you really care about them.
K Street already resembles a “Champagne Room.”
As a bonus, she is far less disturbing to look at than Henry Waxman or Dennis Kucinich.

Funny how you fail to mention that TPM lists Mongiardo as the leading Democrat in the race. Your Mongiardo coverage is getting just a little ridiculous Jake. How many posts did you have on him yesterday? Five? Six? How many were even remotely newsworthy? One. The HL article.
You’re either getting too bubbly or too sloppy with your coverage. I can’t tell which yet.

Yeeeah. The “Leading Democrat” who couldn’t outraise Jack Conway after the biggest flub in the entire Senate race (up until recently).
Unfortunately for you, every media outlet in the country has featured Lt. Dan’s outrageous remarks captured on audio tape lately.
That’s me. Too sloppy by pointing out the facts.
Would you like me to write three or four stories today about how the governor’s office is working 24/7 to oust Lt. Dan? Maybe write a story or two about how his campaign staffers email and call me all the time with the inside scoop? I’m sure you would.
Must be awesome living in a delusional world.

Where is ur link and comments about today’s article in TheHill? Fair is fair Jake.
5 jake // Oct 16, 2009 at 11:08 am
You mean this story that points out Jack Conway still raised hundreds of thousands of dollars more than Lt. Dan?
You’re right. Fair is fair.

“Must be awesome living in a delusional world.”
Hmmm… Maybe, Jake. Guess I’m off in my own little happy place somewhere playing with ponies and lolly pops. But just for fun, let’s see what you posted yesterday:
A ten day old article from Time’s Blog on the Rasmussen poll.
A blurb bashing Mongiardo for trying to derail drug trafficking from FL to KY.
H-L editorial on Mongiardo (newsworthy, might I add).
A standard issue media advisory about Mongiardo appearing in a parade.
A KDP Facebook post that leaves out Mongiardo’s appearance at the Fall Festival Rally. Checked that today, and apparently he will be there.
And a rumor that Mongiardo thinks Conway’s behind the recordings.
…and you’ve basically ignored Conway’s fundraising numbers. No link to the C-J on Conway’s quarterly total, no comment on how he should step it up, etc. Just more regurgitated PageOne talking points about Mongiardo’s “abysmal” numbers. Which just happen to fall slightly behind Conway’s third quarter total.
Nothing on his COH. Nothing on his apparent personnel change from Riddle to Halloran. Nothing on the Hill’s claim that Conway had the most disappointing performance of the quarter.
I know your loyalties are with Conway, but as I said, I find it sloppy when you omit such a large part of campaign news in favor of “Ask the KDP if Mongiardo’s in Chicago” blurbs.

WATB much?
For the record: Mongiardo staffers AND folks at KDP told me yesterday that Mongiardo wouldn’t be there. I’ve already made that clear.
Yeah, I totally ignored Conway’s numbers… by linking to stories that include them, by commenting about them, by publishing his entire press release. Yeah. Absolutely ignored them.
“Slightly behind” = hundreds of thousands of dollars. Let’s get real.
His cash on hand is much higher than Lt. Dan’s - and I’ve already proved (in July) that Lt. Dan has lied about cash on hand in the past.
It’s hilarious that you and folks like Larry “I’ll Ruin You” O’Bryan and you think your “sloppy” comments matter.
8 Thurston // Oct 16, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Ha. WATB. Interesting. Oh, Jake, you’re right. My bad. You were all over that shit, man. You were like, “Hey, here’s the press release that has no real information.” And then you commented on it by posting dollar symbols.
Good stuff man. Biting commentary. When is WaPo gonna tap you to write a column?
And quarterly numbers (which is what I said in my last comment)? $160,000 behind. Not hundreds. I know you have a penchant for exaggerating things, but let’s get real.
Conway under-performed this quarter. Plain and simple.
Not that this comment matters or anything. But it’s become increasingly clear that you aren’t going to put any negative press on the Golden Child.

Yeah, cause I always offer such biting commentary about everything. Ha.
$160,000 = One Hundred Sixty Thousand. That’s hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Funny how one can under perform while taking a month off for the birth of his child and still outraising his opponent by $160,000. Cute story, though.

P.S. Why so bitter, Mr. Reece?
11 Andy // Oct 16, 2009 at 1:10 pm
I think anyway you slice it Conway leads in money, not being beaten in polls by Rand Paul, and has a slight lead in not not being embarassing.
12 Just me // Oct 16, 2009 at 1:13 pm
I think it’s hysterical that once the comments were ‘opened’ again…well, it’s obvious.
13 Thurston // Oct 16, 2009 at 1:38 pm
Nice spin on the “hundreds of thousands of dollars” thing, O’Reilly. Yes, I suppose that number is literally hundreds of thousands, but you know what that phrase connotates when it stands alone. Scratch WaPo. Replace with Faux News.
14 jake // Oct 16, 2009 at 2:29 pm
“Hundreds of thousands of dollars” means, literally, hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Which is what $160,000 is in the real world.
$160,000 more than Lt. Dan, even.
(Do they really make you drive from Louisville to Frankfort? That is absurd.)
15 Conservative // Oct 16, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Actually, to split hairs, $160,000 isn’t hundredS of thousands of dollars. It’s one hundred thousand and part of another hundred thousand.
$201,000 would be hundreds of thousands of dollars. $160,000 is tens of thousands of dollars, not hundreds of thousands.
16 jake // Oct 16, 2009 at 3:50 pm
Thank goodness I have no hair and am unfamiliar with splitting them.
