Compare Mongiardo’s Projections With Reality

October 16th, 2009 · 2 Comments

So far, Daniel Mongiardo has had abysmal fundraising operations for his U.S. Senate campaign. He’s raised just $1.2 million overall, compared to Jack Conway, who raised more than that in a single quarter. Conway made one of the biggest campaign mistakes in Kentucky history and suffered tremendously at the hands of exaggerated press. And Mongiardo barely raised half a million bucks the entire quarter following.

But whatever, right?

In July, I shared leaked documents from inside the Mongiardo Campaign revealing his fundraising strategy and an overall look at his communication plan for the entirety of the 2010 election cycle:

Over the last several days I’ve been able to interview several staffers of Daniel Mongiardo’s U.S. Senate campaign and have also spoken with a few people close to the Lt. Governor. The verdict? His campaign is a serious flustercuck. It’s in a complete and total downward spiral. His donors are jumping ship left and right. His second quarter haul was inflated. His real cash on hand is thousands upon thousands of dollars lower than reported. And there’s not a soul in Washington who isn’t pressing Lt. Dan to jump ship.

We could hash that out for days, but I’m sure you only want to hear the juicy parts. Got my hands on a copy of the Mongiardo campaign’s budget. Authored by none other than “Kim” on June 19th.

You’ll note that Mongiardo’s plans revealed he hoped to raise $650,000 in the third quarter. We predicted he’d raise $250K. While our prediction obviously fell short, so did Mongiardo’s financial dream.

You’ll also note that his first quarter fundraising numbers were inflated – potentially illegally – so who knows if his numbers this quarter are also a farce?

Anyway, I could go on for days about how that campaign is hemorrhaging money while raising very little of it. But that’s just beating a dead horse. What you wanna see is that spreadsheet I got my hands on several months ago:

You can bash Lt. Dan till the cows come home. But all that’s old news.

Tell us something we don’t know Jake, such as how much of his own money did Conway put in this last quarter. The CJ says he raised $675.00. You ignore the fact that Conway refuses to say how much of his own money he put in. Maybe he did not out raise Lt. Dan, or if he did it was not by much.

Also Conway spent more this past quarter than Mongiardo (and does not have to pay a field staff like Lt. Dan). I see you do not mention that.

Also, what happen to Riddle? Why did Riddle get fired and get replaced by Hollern (sp). Who is this guy. Come on Jake, tell us something we don’t know!

You still not able to spell delusional, Kim?

Lt. Dan is flushing money down the toilet on a field staff that’s meddling around and wasting time. Identifying voters this far in advance of an election during which no one is paying attention is hardly a smart thing to do. Further, according to Mongiardo’s staff and his own campaign plan, the majority of his cash is being spent on fundraising staffers who aren’t exactly bringing home the bacon.

Riddle still has his job on the Conway camp. Just spoke with him.

Why don’t you tell us why Lt. Dan still has a $1.2 million debt, Kim? Maybe tell us why he still hasn’t paid you for your services in 2004?
