Jack Conway Releases Quarterly Numbers

October 15th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Here’s the statement from the Conway Camp:

(Louisville – KY) Attorney General Jack Conway’s campaign for the United States Senate announced today that it cleared the $2 million fundraising marker and holds more than a two to one cash advantage over his primary opponent. Mongiardo still has not raised in nine months what the Conway campaign collected in the first 9 weeks.

The news comes on the heels of last weeks Rasmussen poll that showed Conway in the strongest position to beat both Republican candidates for Senator.

“I’m gratified by the depth of the support for our campaign – the endorsements we’ve received, the money we’ve raised and the momentum we have moving forward,” said Attorney General Jack Conway. “Kentucky is ready for a Senator who’ll hold Washington accountable and get results for people. “

From all public reports, Conway’s $2 million fundraising total exceeds all his opponents, Democrat and Republican, by a wide margin. He was able to exceed the $2 million marker in a quarter when he and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child, Eva.

So…$700,000? He was at 1.3 million last quarter and the wording makes it sound very much like he’s at two million overall and not just the third quarter.

We have put pencil to paper and have come to the conclusion that with Mongiardo’s burn rate versus Conway’s, and estimating that they will both continue to turn in about the same numbers until the end, (questionable now for Mongiardo). Conway will be able to go on TV 3 weeks earlier than Mongiardo. This is FATAL to Mongiardo’s campaign. Add to that the constant blundering of his staff and even Daniel himself….smart money would now be on Conway 2 to 1. Jack would have to REALLY step on his &#^% to lose this one.

    Now can he beat Trey?

To consider: Jack can write a personal check at any point during the campaign to be up on the tubes longer than Lt. Dan.

I remain unconvinced that he’ll beat Lt. Dan. Unless we continue down the path we’re currently on.
