Over the past week the University of Louisville has sent out several email alerts about various crimes on its campus.
So we were somewhat surprised to see this blurb in UofL Today:
5.) Personal security alarms to be available for purchase
Personal security alarms that emit an ear-piercing alarm and an attention-grabbing strobe light will be available to faculty, staff and students beginning Monday, Oct. 5, for a $10 fee. They can be purchased at the Belknap Campus Parking Office in the Floyd Street Garage and HSC Parking Office in the Chestnut Street Garage. (Submitted By: Doreen Wood, University Parking)
Kind of funny that UofL is selling these “personal security alarms” for $10 a pop after all the scary messaging this week, isn’t it?
P.S. We’d embed this video of WLKY’s segment about an attack at UofL but the station apparently doesn’t want anyone, ever, under the age of 60 to see its coverage.
