How does a CPA, a past president of the Louisville Metro Council, a candidate for Louisville Mayor and a sitting Judge UNKNOWINGLY violate campaign finance law?

In my line of work, ignorance of the law will make me loose my license.

Saying the King family did not know what they were doing, is like saying Jerry Abramson was tough on Cordish.
Does the law matter anymore, or is it merely something to skirt?
