PEE ALERT: HAHAHAHAHAHA OH GOD

September 21st, 2009 · 20 Comments

Really, are people just crazy or what? (No, I don’t mean ignorant)

Check it:

Reliable sources report that former Miss America Heather French Henry is seriously considering a run for Louisville Metro Mayor next year.

Her entry into a crowded field of major male contenders in the Democratic Primary could very well make her the front runner.

Henry has major name recognition, has charisma, is articulate and smart, and would have no problem raising money.

“Reliable sources.” Hahahaha. Steve Henry rambling on the telephone late at night does not count as a reliable source these days.

How reliable could Ste… that source be? I mean, considering she’s still in a lawsuit with her publishing company for allegedly defrauding them of more than $400,000. Her husband (and she, too) is still under investigation by the Kentucky State Police’s Special Investigations Unit.  A special prosecutor is still working on the case. Her husband was just fined $50,000 by the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. And the woman hasn’t filed proper paperwork with the IRS for her non-profit in years.

Hahaha.

Yeah. She could totally raise money and get lots of support. Hahaha.

Cannot breathe. This is the best story ever. What a dream this would be.

And here’s this from Joe.

    Two words: Katie King.

    Louisville. It’s Possible Here ™.

Katie wasn’t being sued by her publishing company.

There weren’t hundreds of current and former state employees with scandalous stories about her.

She and her husband weren’t moving tons of illegal campaign contributions through various bank accounts and non-profits.

Katie didn’t insist that if her husband’s (which she doesn’t have) political events in December 2006 weren’t about her – then she wouldn’t be involved.

Katie didn’t freak out at Ditto’s in 2006 upon finding out that her husband (which she doesn’t have) wasn’t going to sell land owned by a non-profit for personal gain.

    Just saying.

Why is she bothering to run for mayor when she is obviously more than qualified to run for Congress?

  • 4 jake // Sep 21, 2009 at 10:43 am

    Hahahaha

Jake, not to be one to bring up unfortunate accidents which could possibly happen to any of us, but “it” did happen.

Mrs. Henry hit and killed a bicyclist a few years back, while both were crossing an intersection–Mrs. Henry in her vehicle unfortunately.

As much as I’d love to, I can’t poke fun at her for that.

But I can raise questions about why she used that as an excuse not to finish her book contract, saying she was unable to do work. Yet she was able to appear on the 700 Club and Oprah Winfrey’s show to talk all about it, 24/7.

Long story short: It’s just not happening.

    Jake, agreed.

But somebody needs to break the news to the Henrys that they have overstayed their celebrity status–legends in their own minds, and all that.

Not to be mean, but I do wonder how Mrs. Henry would be able to get through policy discussion with regards to cycling. It will come up in this campaign, for sure.

Understand that I have no favorites in this race one way or the other. I’m just pointing out that it’s a very similar situation to the Katie King campaign.

Katie had a list as well – you guys covered it: the 911 calls, the work history, all that stuff seemed like “obvious” torpedoes for someone running for judge against an obviously more qualified candidate. Didn’t matter. She had name recognition and she looked good on camera.

Heather looks good on camera. She is perceived as a friend to veterans. She has mega name recognition. Outside of the political world, a lot of people seem to like her.

That’s how people get elected around here.

Katie was actually an attorney. And despite having difficulty showing up to work, she actually had some work experience.

Heather, on the other hand, has never held an actual job. She has no experience beyond making cocktail dresses that don’t sell.

I imagine her “design” experience would go over really swell when dealing with budget and bond issues.

Wholly unqualified… pretty enough…surrounded by crazy supporters….Sarah Palin much?
    Make it stop.

  • 12 jake // Sep 21, 2009 at 1:51 pm

    Nooooo! PLEASE let this happen!

  • 13 Novena // Sep 21, 2009 at 2:08 pm

    “Mayoral Scandal and Tease?”

Come on, Jake. Heather was a TV broadcaster for awhile–a real job of sorts. Again, another parallel with Palin. Sarah was mayor of Wasilla, AL. Could Heather be the one for the Ville? Like you, I hope she runs for the merriment it would cause.

Shady Jim King would welcome another candidate in the race to lower the common denominator to win the primary.
With wrestlers running for mayor around the country why not a former Ms America?
It seems that public service has been lost as the reason people should go into politics.

  • 15 jake // Sep 21, 2009 at 6:07 pm

Seriously – tell me what’s shady.

I’ve been asking for months and no one will tell me.

Come on, folks, drop the facts. I’m waiting.

And as far as Heather goes… public service? HAHAHA.

  • 16 Curt Morrison // Sep 21, 2009 at 11:06 pm

I just want to thank Heather French Henry for being a courageous public figure that showed up at the Louisville AIDS Walk when a lot of the people, frankly, were hiding from something they didn’t understand.

It’s fine to be critical -but acknowledge that she used her stardom to benefit our community in countless ways when she certainly didn’t have to, and had nothing to gain. So she ain’t all bad.

  • 17 Arnold Horshack // Sep 21, 2009 at 11:17 pm

Heather French Henry is to “stardom” as Paris Hilton is to “musician”.

As for King, there’s some great quotes in these:

So he tried to force Ken Herndon out of the Metro Council race. Ken went on to cause more drama than we could have expected and to totally lose an opportunity to effect real change – and then went on a witch hunt.

So he attended a McConnell fundraiser.

I’m still waiting to hear about the shade and the corruption.

I would vote for Heather any day. She is dedicated to helping veterans. She is not only capable, talented and qualified for public office, she is beautiful too.

  • 20 jake // Sep 29, 2009 at 11:11 pm

By “helping veterans” you mean… never spending a dime from her “non-profit,” right?

And getting sued by her publishing company for allegedly defrauding the company over a book to benefit veterans, right?

Because you may wanna think twice before speaking.
