Explosive New Steve Nunn Scandal Details

September 15th, 2009 · 3 Comments

The Courier-Journal’s Stephenie Steitzer, one of the Commonwealth’s star journalists, has uncovered explosive new details in the murder case involving Steve Nunn. (UPDATE on 09/16 @ 9:32 A.M.: Appears that the C-J changed its byline overnight. Both Stephenie Steitzer and Tom Loftus worked the story. Loftus apparently did the interview with Damron.)

These comments from Nunn’s ex-wife are, well, see for yourself…

On Nunn’s personal darkness:

Damron made clear she was offering no excuses for Nunn. “Steve’s made his choices. … The buck stops with him.”

And here’s this from a friend of Nunn’s about him being a member of sugardaddies.com:

A friend, Penny Bentley, said Nunn told her about three weeks ago that he had created a profile on sugardaddies.com, a site that describes itself as bringing together “successful, rich men (sugar daddies) and attractive women who love to be pampered, spoiled and supported.”

“He sent me a couple links to different Web sites,” she said in an interview Tuesday.

In his profile on sugardaddies.com, describes himself as a “kind and considerate man who loves to be active and have fun. I have a lot of energy and a high sex drive. I am well educated and respected.”

He states that he is looking for a “beautiful, sexy woman who loves boating and sun and trips to all over the world.”

Nunn also had ads on Craigslist.com and we hear that he allegedly posted quite a few interesting photographs of himself.

This trial is going to majority interesting.

Nancy Grace is set to discuss everything on her program this evening. Should be insane.

Big Update @ 8:44:

Stephenie Steitzer just mentioned on Nancy Grace that Nunn had requested changes to a headstone order prior to killing Amanda.

But here’s what the media won’t tell you (yet): We hear that Nunn purchased a funeral plot along with a headstone and requested that they put his name, birthdate and date of death on it. The date of death requested was allegedly September 11, 2009.

HOT MESS. Hot mess.

Another Update @ 10:47: The H-L has a few more details about the grave stone.

Shelton refused to say what Nunn asked him to put on the stone. He declined to say whether Nunn requested a Sept. 11 death date.

But based on Nunn’s demeanor — and what Nunn wanted put on the stone — Shelton said he could tell Nunn was distraught and needed help.

“That’s what freaked me out,” he said. “I was absolutely floored.”

-SNIP-

Shelton said investigators came Friday and took the paper that Nunn wrote on, and on Monday Shelton talked to Lexington police about Nunn’s visit.

You’ll probably want to read it all.
