A recent email blast from the Jefferson County Republican Party contained two gems that I just had to share:
A Pro-Life rally and dinner, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Alan Keyes, will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky, September 26th. Directions can be found at www.kyconvention.org. The Rally will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A reception attended by Dr. Keyes will follow.
On Monday, September 28th, Mike Huckabee will be speaking at the 5th Annual Benefit Banquet for A Woman’s Choice Resource Center. A Woman’s Choice Resource Center is a pro-life, Christian crisis-pregnancy center. Seating begins at 6:15 p.m. with the dinner and program beginning at 7:00 p.m. Reservations are $125 for individuals or $1250 for a table of ten. Contact Candice Isom at 502-569-0494 for more information.
That’s right. Mike Huckabee (the guy who wants to separate AIDS patients from the rest of America) and the GOP’s lone non-white self-hater will be in town! That self-hater would be Alan Keyes, the guy who once said that “Jesus Christ would not vote for Obama.” The guy with, quite possibly, the most homophobic views in America.
Good job, GOP. Way to draw out the Frank Simons of the community.

“To Your Health, Alan & Mike”
I don’t trust any pipeline Keyes thinks he has to Jesus. And Huckabee is so health-obsessed that he would ideally like to separate us all (not just AIDS patients) from any vicinity of his skin pores.

The only way Alan Keyes could be a bigger dick would be for him to have balls coming out of his fucking ears.

Of course Jesus Christ would not vote for Obama. Jesus knows that only citizens of the United States are allowed to vote for President, and since Jesus was born in Israel, and has never gone through one of those citizenship services, he is not an American citizen. Jesus would not violate our election laws and wouldn’t vote for anyone. :-)
The Alan Keyes appearance is actually a fund-raiser for the Bill Johnson for US Senate campaign, designed to jump-start his candidacy. I wonder if Mr. Johnson knows that Keyes abandoned the Republican Party in 2008, eventually forming his own party.

“The Keyes to God Almighty”
Bill Johnson must be truly desperate in that he is having Keyes “jump start” his Senate campaign. No problem about Alan leaving the GOP in 2008. He can always say that God made him do it. In that case, the Almighty doubtless showed good sense, indeed.

Who is Bill Johnson? Oh, that must be his problem.
