Special State Senate Election: 18th District
August 25th, 2009 · 19 Comments
Stick around. We’ll have results as they come in. UPDATE: This may not be a sign of things to come, but I’m hearing from tons of Republicans who voted for Robin Webb. (I don’t think the early numbers from Robertson that have her ahead mean anything at this point) Seems the GOP split on the [...]

Democratic U.S. Senate Prediction
August 25th, 2009 · 16 Comments
There has been much hemming and hawing about whether or not Jack Conway will step up to the plate and woo Democrats in Kentucky. But. I have a prediction: Jack Conway will do something like reverse his position on mountaintop removal or cap & trade at the advice of his strategists. And he’ll quickly lose [...]

September is Bourbon Heritage Month
August 25th, 2009 · 3 Comments
Finally, something we can all agree on, right? Right. Papaw Governor Steve Beshear has declared September the month of bourbon. Sure, we could complain about how the state’s new alcohol tax has done tons of damage to the Commonwealth’s bourbon industry, but, uh… we’d rather focus on all the good stuff surrounding bourbon. Like how [...]
