ABoyd, local chambers of commerce don’t “compete” with one another. Most rural counties know that it takes a regional approach these days to get anything done. And if he does business in Carlisle County, it doesn’t matter where he lives.

To comment on another note, why can’t the Governor simply release applications for the WKCTC Board, or better yet, hold a press conference and defend this appointment to the people of Kentucky…what are Steve Beshear and Larry Kelley hiding?

Could it be that it looks really bad for someone who is Vice-Chair of the Ballard County Democratic Party and Economic Development Director for Wickliffe, in BALLARD County, to be President of the CARLISLE County Chamber of Commerce, where he is supposed to compete with Ballard County.

Conflict of interest, anyone?

Could it be that the Carlisle County Chamber of Commerce is a private membership organization? Might they possibly set their own rules for who can be a member and who can be an officer? Is it conceivable that under those rules, Kelly is completely eligible for the position he holds?
