  Chel, I agree with you; but Rick won’t be canned. Too much green stuff and celebrity glitz for the UofL to throw away (just check out the initial comments of Jurich, Ramsey, and Mr. Plate Glass). Reading the NY Daily News (sometimes not the most reliable source) does make me wonder: (1) is there more to Rick’s gopher, Mr. Sypher, that needs telling–it all looks so suspicious; (2) Rick needs to say a lot of “Hail, Marys,” especially if he threatened Ms. Sipher with putting her kids in concrete. This whole tale sounds like a Loo-a-ville version of “Desperate Housewives” & “The Sopranos.” Only it is worse: it is naked reality.

  The New York Post inserted what they thought Pitino said (in parenthesis), but that’s not what I was thinking when I heard the audio….
  “I think that the best thing in all scenarios is to go through with it [have the baby], but that it has to be your call.

  Ramsey is bullet proof–he was an accountant in Frankfort for ever before becoming president at U of L. He is one of those people who gets off rubbing shoulders with athletes…
  Back in my day men like Ramsey were referred to as “jockstrap sniffers”…..
  Oh to have a president like Myles Brand, the IU president who fired Bobby Knight…
  Rick will stay, as will Tom Turtle Neck–Ramsey is a jock sniffer & is bulletproof…

  I think Rick is an outstanding person for getting up and telling everyone he was sorry. Honestly, I’ve heard this girl is a UK fan and was sent to Porcini to entice Rick to do the dirty with her. I think it’s true. The UK fans are still angry at him for coming over to the better part of the state. Go Rick. I’ll always love you for all you’ve done. People just don’t appreciate a winner like you. Boo Blue and Karen Closet UK Fan.

  Jumpingjimmy, I think your tale is less plausible than any Jimminy Cricket could concoct. You need to relax and have one of those Pitino desserts concocted by this blogspot for the new menu at Porcini’s.

  Nobody is bullet proof.

  If there’s a conspiracy, I think it has to be that jock-sniffers like JR have somehow managed to convince the people of Kentucky that f-ing basketball is more important than are things like offering internationally recognized programs taught by highly competent faculty members who understand the importance of teaching AND research, complying with your own internal policies (the Redbook – you ought to dust it off and have a read during the off-season, JR – maybe start a book club, and invite your Deans over for a few brews, since they don’t seem to have a clue what it says either), respecting the constitutional rights of your staff and students … and so on, and so on …

  Oh, and BTW – go UK!! I used to be a Card fan before UofL screwed me over – and that’s exactly the explanation I give to anybody who asks me why I’m cheering for UK. I wonder how many of Felner’s victims are now wearing the blue and white with pride too?

  HarryFTP, your comments remind me of all the innocent who have been maimed by the UofL. There is not a big enough cover to hide the shame. The honchos now want mercy for failing to act justly. They fear open criticism. So, keep it coming.
  P.S. I also feel more sympathy for the Cats now.

  If the Rickster is still the U of L coach this time next year, he will get a cool 3.5 million dollar bonus. Why, you’d think the guy had hung an NCAA Champion banner or something at Uof L, instead of staining a booth at Porktinos. When did this town become Hooterville?
