Mitch McConnell voted no on the Matthew Shepard Act.
Jim Bunning didn’t vote at all.
What a shame.
We think you should give them a call at 202-224-3121 to let them know how you feel about their ridiculous votes and and/or incompetence on the voting front.
Fortunately, the Act passed the Senate is now on its way to to President Barack Obama’s desk. No thanks to hatemongers and self-haters like David Edmunds and Frank Simon, who ignorantly deemed the bill the “Pedophile Protection Act.” They better hope they’re never spotted in Cox Park by WHAS11′s illegal wiener hunters.

Speaking of weiners, Oscar Meyer died the other day. Everybody loved him. He had a way with b-o-l-o-g-n-a.

Capital switchboard is busy, I can only imagine it’s because compassionate people across the country are expressing their gratitude to their competent Senators. Something we just can’t do today. On a subtle note…Bunning’s no vote, was better than McConnell’s vote against.
Oh, and from what I heard, your metaphor would have been more clever if you had used Iroquois park :P

I applaud McConnells NO vote and rue Bunnings non-vote.
NO ONE deserves greater protection under the law than his fellow American. All crime is a crime of hate. This is simply an effort to control a persons thoughts, a further attack on individual liberty and an attempt to elevate one special interest above another. Way to buy into the culture war being brewed- fools, all of you!

I encourage readers to click on Rachel’s name to see how fucking insane she is.

The hate crimes bill was amended onto a defense app bill that must first go through reconciliation. There is funding in that bill for F-22 Raptors that Obama does not support. So, don’t count the chickens yet, they haven’t yet hatched.
As for Rachael, level of premeditation has been long used to determine the degree of a given crime. Would hate not be premeditation? To me, the hate crimes bill is a sad first step only, not far enough. Murder due to hate should be automatic death or life w/o parole, and the panic defense should be outlawed and lawyers employing it disbarred.

Polar,
The F-22 funding was stripped out today by a 58-40 vote.
The amendment stripping the funding had the support of Sen. McCain.

“The Hate Mongers Come Marchin’ In”
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there are KKK, Neo-Nazi, Racist Skinhead, Neo-Confederate, and Christian Identity groups in such KY cities as Louisville, Lexington, Pikeville, Dawson Springs, Burlington, Baxter, and Tollesboro. More votes for Mitch and the GOP than one could imagine. Wonder why he voted against the Matthew Shepard Act aimed at hate crimes.
