Dick Prelopski, the former director of field services for the Governor’s Office of Local Development, is now working full-time for Daniel Mongiardo’s U.S. Senate campaign and is no longer an employee of the Commonwealth. According to multiple sources within Mongiardo’s camp, Prelopski will soon announce his full-time employment with Mongiardo. There are plans to make it seem as if Prelopski is merely on leave or being “loaned” to the campaign – but according to our sources in state government, that’s not the case.  He’ll serve as Mongiardo’s field director and is set to pull in $5,000 per month.

We hear from friends in both Frankfort and Washington, D.C. that Mongiardo’s communications firm, SKD, has dropped a memo to the campaign declaring that there must be a strong 3rd quarter showing (October 15th) or it’s over. Other campaign advisers have apparently demanded that Mongirado stop the cash burn and cut his bloated staff.

Also hearing that an outspoken big dog/consultant/guy who always hates elitists and who is on Mongiardo’s campaign is allegedly up to his old routine of treating female staffers less than respectfully. Since we have respect, we won’t be revealing all the details. But let’s just say anyone who is being treated badly in any job needs to find a way out. And if the young, progressive woman we’re talking about wants to take a job working on a mayoral campaign or another race so she can jump ship, she should contact us privately.

Last week we told you about Daniel Mongiardo’s visit to a Biker Bar in Louisville. Some say it wasn’t elitist because it was on Bardstown Road near the Bullitt County line. Mongiardo staffers, however, tell us there were more doctors and lawyers there than you could shake a stick at. But the interesting part of the Louisville story – which Mongiardo kept to himself – was that he was in the elitist big city for a high-end fundraiser hosted by Kevin Grangier, a prominent millionaire who lives in Louisville’s most elite neighborhood/area/fourth-class city of Anchorage.

Grangier was the first gay millionaire to appear on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker (here’s another link with a photo, as well… and another here). He’s so wealthy that he’s able to maintain homes in both Los Angeles and New York.

So we’re left wondering just why Daniel Mongiardo allows Kim Geveden and a few of his supporters and staff to continually trash Louisville. And why he allows them to trash Jack Conway for having friends who live in the very area where Lt. Dan was partying down. Cause the hypocrisy is ripe, ladies.

Oh, and an interesting note about Grangier: his company, CarryOn PR, sent Mongiardo’s first blast email out on March 21st about the launch of his campaign website. A service for which a disbursement did not appear on his campaign finance report with the FEC. Meaning somebody somewhere in the campaign is breaking the law.
