Our sources were right.
Daniel Mongiardo only raised $300K in the second quarter:
Conway recently announced he raised a little more than $1.3 million in the same time period that Mongiardo raised a little more than $300,000.
Is anyone shocked? Kim Geveden wishes you were, as he continues to hypocritically attack Jack Conway for not being able to raise money out in the state. Never mind that Jack raised more in eastern Kentucky that Mongiardo did.
And $302,993? Looks like they really were scrambling to get the number over 300, just as we said.
Lt. Dan’s days as a U.S. Senate candidate are numbered.
And in other news, make sure you check out the proof of a total campaign meltdown inside Mongiardo’s world. Staffers admitting they’ve departed.
UPDATE:
Mongiardo’s campaign spent something like $41K last quarter, right? Something like $388K on-hand? Raised $300K And he has $485K on-hand, right? You do the math, but it looks like he’s only netted $100K.
Ruh ro.
Can’t wait to see how they attempt to spin that one.
Another Update:
An astute commenter here points something out.
Mongiardo’s crew is complaining that Jack only raised 40% of his funds outside of Louisville. Well… let’s do some math. Jack Conway raised $1,325,000. 40% of that = $530,000. And $530K is woah more than, oh, let’s see… $300K. Just saying. The gays can count, folks. Count, count, count.
Spin failure at its best.

I went to the FEC site to search their database, but the data isn’t in there yet. If I can get the data for both candidates, I’d like to map the locations of the gifts within the state. Might be an interesting exercise.
The claim by some is that LGDM’s giving is more statewide, while AGJC’s is more localized. Yes, but how much? And will it matter in the end if one candidate continues to out-raise the other at this rate?
We’ll see. Will post when/if I get it done.

It can take days/weeks (sometimes) for the Secretary of the Senate to process things and get them to the FEC for publication.
Sadly, thanks to Mitch McConnell, Senate reporting is pure shit and has to be mailed. House reporting? It’s electronic and nearly immediate.
