Looks like it.
As the Robert Felner case winds its way through the legal system, the University of Louisville’s College of Education and Human Development is attempting to move on. Tomorrow, interim CEHD dean Blake Haselton will host a discussion of the college’s progress in the year since federal agents showed up at Felner’s office.
Despite the leadership scandal, enrollment in the college is rising, faculty dissent has lessened (so UofL says – haha, if only it had a clue) and new policies are in place to supposedly ensure that no Felner scandals happen again. At least that’s what we’re hearing from insiders at UofL. There will be news of “recent milestones and challenges within the college.”
Haselton will address the media with his attempt to spin things positively at 11:00 A.M. tomorrow.

“Anticipating Spin Room PR”
Spiders on the CEHD walls, spinning wildly.
Faculty line up, looking confused, disheveled.
Brandeis’ remains spin outside the Law Bldg.
Are we just dreamin’ or is this heaven?
Talking, talking, not walking, walking.
Spinning, weaving, covering up the truth.

Anyone else noticed the rising tide of bad press emanating from U of L in the post-Felner era
(going with the flow) like so many dead fish?
The real story/stories embedded in the crawl.
The vague feeling that your feet aren’t touching the ground…

“The Cardinal vs. Failin’ Palin”
Marie, I guess your comment reminds us why UofL hired a new PR guru. He has at least been more muted–not so much obvious garbage has been hurled at an increasingly knowing public (thanks to Jake). You definitely imply that UofL is like Palin’s dead fish. I hope the true red Cardinals get their claws unstuck from the flimsy Grawemeyer Hall glue that is holding up progress at Belknap.
