Will the tax credit really spur tons of new automobile purchases in Kentucky? We’re not sold on it and don’t think it goes far enough. But it’s nice to know you’ll pay less tax now on the $1,000 vehicle you’ll be trading in for a new $10,000 vehicle. [Stephenie Steitzer]

By now it’s old news, but Trey Grayson raised $600,000 for the quarter with his U.S. Senate exploratory committee. Contributions from 101 counties, 1,1500 individuals, 99% from individuals, 93% Kentuckians, 65% of contribs were for $250 or less, online contribs totaled more than $120,000. All that in 55 days. But until Trey grows a pair and enters the race as a legit candidate, we’re just not gonna take him seriously. [Roll Call]

Can’t any of these studies rank metro area to metro area instead of city limits to city limits?
Arlington is number 1 but somehow Dallas is 8th and Fort Worth is 7th?
Aurora is 2nd but Denver is 13th?
Freemont is 22nd but Oakland is 65th, San Francisco is 39th, and San Jose is 25th?
Jersey City is 86th but New York City is 88th?
This is all so stupid!! This is the equivalent of ranking Shively and Jeffersontown separately from Louisville in a national survey.
Can the people of Fort Worth not make it to a Texas Rangers game in Arlington, where The Ballpark is located?
Can the citizens of Denver not cross the city limits into Aurora and take in a High School basketball game?
San Franciscans may seem smug and artsy, but they’re crazy about their sports teams, especially in the Castro! (Think about it: hot, athletic guys getting all sweaty)
Guess being closer to the Meadowlands Sports Complex makes Jersey City more of a sports mecca than that poor ol’ backwater, New York City!
But hey, the new MBA recipients working at Men’s Health can break their arms patting themselves on the back for all of this free publicity even though their method of compiling data was completely ridiculous!!

I agree that Trey needs to get in the race ASAP but just because heis being politically cautious in this extremely sensitive situation does not make him spineless. Avoiding an all out blowup from Jim Bunning cannot be an easy task.
Trey has succesfully raised an impressive warchest in two months time situating himself as the GOP favorite all while walking a tight rope over a potentially disasterous primary brawl.
What a pro!

The question is, if Trey thinks he would be a better representative for the people of Kentucky, then he should put aside party niceties and just make it official. Instead, he is tiptoeing around, placing Bunning’s feelings and the party diplomacy ahead of what is likely best for the citizens.
Is this how it would be should he get to Washington…putting party politics ahead of the people he represents ?

You’re right, JadedDude. Scarborough Research collects the data based on metro areas and DMAs (TV markets) too, so Men’s Health could have reported it at a more realistic level of geography. Goofy stats for sure.
Also, not sure where MH got this info, but the mag ranks Indy #1 as the “most sexually satisfied” city and Lexington #100 as the “least sexually satisfied” city. Have at it Hoosiers and UofL fans!

According to the Los Angeles Times today: “The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said today it has fired the two agents, as well as their supervisor, who took part in this summer’s raid of a Fort Worth gay bar that resulted in law enforcement clashing with hundreds of patrons and leaving one man hospitalized with a serious head injury.”
