Wouldn't want to waste an "in recognition of" vote...not when other important votes that aren't a waste of lawmakers time like "recognizing Pat Summitt and the Tennessee Lady Vols on her 1000th victory" or "recognizing the Lumbee tribe of North Carolina". Both were apparently IMPORTANT votes that must not have been a waste of valuable legislative time and resources. His abusive father denied him any semblance of a proper childhood. People who aren't allowed to evolve normally through childhood and adolescence tend to remain fixated in a child-like state. Probably the most concerning effect of this is an attraction to children. I think Michael Jackson died a severely damaged, unhappy person. It's clear that he was mentally and physically ill. I offer this not as an excuse for what he might have done, but as an explanation that might advance our understanding and compassion. I prefer to remember him for his music, which brought joy to millions worldwide.
