A Fort Thomas man who described himself as a political consultant has pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography.
Between February 2007 and July 2008, Kenneth Mullikin Jr., 58, used his home computer to download more than 700 still images and 98 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct … Some of the images were of children under 12 years old, and some depicted sadistic acts…
Interesting that the Herald-Leader didn’t identify him as the former Democratic Party Chairperson. And terrifying that someone so seemingly ‘clean’ could be such a perverted man with troubling personal issues.
Guess it takes all kinds in this big tent, eh? (Yes, I’m joking)

I am NOT going to defend his heinous and indefensible actions but I was told at the time of his arrest the “defense” was depression over a divorce and his dad dying. Supposedly that made him crack up.
I don’t see how these things could lead you to child porn, and am glad to see he just pled guilty instead of trying to explain his disgusting actions.

Pedophilia is a mental illness not a coping strategy. There is no excuse or justification. Hopefully he will get treatment along with his punishment.
