Watch Kentucky Tonight last evening? Most. Boring. Event. Ever. Steve Beshear didn’t say anything. David Williams didn’t say anything. Greg Stumbo didn’t say anything. Stumbo did admit that House Leadership doesn’t have the support it needs to pass gambling. So. We’re left wondering why the hell we’re wasting our time and tax dollars. [Waste of Time]

If you need it, here’s a bit of a story about the boring mess on the teevee last night. [Jack Brammer]

Mr. Meador has more on why we didn’t feel the need to mention Jack Conway’s major union win. Also, who the flip cares? It doesn’t matter at this stage in the game. [Fat Lip]

Pretty fancy that University of Kentucky President Lee Todd gets TWO University-owned vehicles to drive whenever he wants, isn’t it? Never mind that we’re all gonna die of the poverty. [Ryan Alessi]

Does the League of Cities really need to give Sylvia Lovely a BMW SUV and pay her $315,000? And how can three people spend $300K on travel? Lovely has a LOT of explaining to do. Robbing this state blind. Oh, and Jim Newberry? He’s technically her boss. Imagine that. ANOTHER scandal involving hundreds of thousands of dollars on Newberry’s watch. [H-L]

New York Democrats hate the gays almost as much as Kentucky Democrats. [HuffPo]

Mitch McConnell actually said something nice about Ted Kennedy. Almost. [WaPo]

This Lawson Nighbert trial is getting good. Can you believe they asked a judge to dismiss an indictment against them? Because they prosecution is “vindictive.” No, we’re not joking. [H-L]

Given that a special session lessens the opportunities for legislator votes to be bought, errrr, persuaded, I’d say this slots horse is fading badly. Plan B? Never mind, no need for that.

Re: the session. Beshear is just begging for a lawsuit, a very expensive lawsuit, against the state should gambling pass without an amendment. He’d be much better off using the time between now and next January making his case and garnering votes for an amendment.

Re.: the Nighbert indictment. The feds have leaked so much on this, but they’ll have a very hard time making the case that Lawson bribed Nighbert. There’s been absolutely nothing made public that links Lawson to the consulting firm that Nighbert worked for. That’s pure speculation. They have the fish in Rummage’s freezer but not one shred of proof that Nighbert was on the take.

ha ha ha…”the consulting firm that Nighbert worked for”…the consultants themselves said Nighbert did absolutely NOTHING to get paid yet he was paid tons of money and even bought a Toyota Avalon…hilarious! he did as much for that firm as he did for state government…unless you count political posturing and self agrandizing as work!

I love it when these people never buy anything awesome… like a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport that’s about to fall apart.

    Goodness.
