Uh, thanks, LG&E. The wind blows and power goes out? Thank you, sir, may I have some more? We’ll keep bending over for you.
That said, here’s some junk for you to waste work time on while we go somewhere with electricity.

What's that, Louisville? You thought Stephen Daeschner was just a thing of the past? Haha, hardly. HE'S BACK! And now he's milking the tax dollars from Southern Indiana. [C-J]
Crazed old man (we gave him the benefit of the doubt and now he’s acting like a certain commenter named Stivers) and sometimes Senator Jim Bunning is being honored by the National Taxpayers Union for his stand against taxes. [H-L]
Horse racing is hurting and we’re all gonna die of the poverty if we don’t start gambling. [C-J]
More Kentucky students are graduating. Barely. But any increase is a good increase, right? [Kentucky Department of Education]
Will Coursey is heading a new committee on rivers and streams that’s being created. Guess that tells us where he was during the House leadership races. [Bluegrass Politics]

In the news coverage of Daeschner, he already looks tired, humped over, and irritated at having to explain how he is going to improve student outcomes. He’s already harping on single parent housholds and “those kids” that “look different from the others” (code for poor black kids). Start watching for the ‘projected needs index’ where he justifies that he is getting results without really getting results. Parents, he wishes that your kids were orphans so he wouldn’t have to deal with you. I hope it works out differently for you and your children, but I’m guessing that the old dog doesn’t have any new tricks.

Just another overpaid government bureaucrat with little in the way of real improvements. You’re telling me that we can’t get better thinkers around here to do things.
