DSCC Chair Senator Bob Menendez was on MSNBC earlier today discussing the 2010 U.S. Senate races and gloated about Jack Conway.
This should show you exactly where Daniel Mongiardo (fortunately or unfortunately, depending upon your position) ranks on the radar of legitimacy in Washington.

I’m sure Menendez’s comments have nothing to do with the fact that his son and Conway went to school together at Harvard. Fact is, Mongiardo has never had the blessing of the establishment Democrats. So far, that doesn’t seem to be making much difference in his ability to get votes or raise money.

Or maybe it’s because– and this is just a hunch– Conway has been the pick of the DSCC since before Menendez came on board?
It’s fun to come up with conspiracy theories all the time. But sometimes the facts are already right in front of you.
As far as Mongiardo goes – no, it’s not true on the vote front. Otherwise he wouldn’t have allowed his State Senate seat to fall into the hands of Republicans. And raising money? Jim Bunning nearly outraised him for money that can be used in the primary.

It’s hardly a conspiracy. Get a grip. Yes, sometimes the facts are right in front of you. Too bad all too often you ignore them. Jake, just because you can write something down does not make it so. What life must be like in your world!
As crazy as Bunning is, he is the incumbent. Outraising ANY incumbent is a huge accomplishment, especially for a D in a red state.

Actually, it was true before I wrote it down.
I encourage you to pay attention to the facts.
20% of Mongiardo’s funds can’t even be used in a primary and he’ll have to return them if he loses the primary.

Oh, and as far as votes go, Mongiardo got more votes in 2004 than ANY Democrat has ever received with George W. Bush at the top of the ticket.

He did, indeed. And just a year ago he lost his State Senate seat.
Funny how times have changed.

Lost his Senate seat? Funny, I thought he gave it up and won his race for Lt. Governor. If anyone is to blame It’s your BFF Jennifer Moore and the rest of the lame-asses at KDP. I think it’s hilarious that if you didn’t have this Senate race stick up your ass right now that you would be blaming her.

I’ve blamed them all ever since – including Daniel Mongiardo.
And he DID lose the Senate seat. He and Steve Beshear – along with Jennifer Moore – fucked everything up 24/7. As did their buddy Kim Geveden.

Francine – note that Conway didn’t go to Harvard, so your lame excuse for alleged bias isn’t factually accurate. Duke and George Washington U., if you care to know where he really went to school, what with him being a fancy out-of-state elitist and all…
