Anyone else hearing the rumor that Gary Tapp– architect of 2009′s anti-gay adoption bill– isn’t running for re-election?
After the fancy rumors we heard from a relative of Tapp’s, we’re just surprised he hasn’t moved out of the state. Could that rumor be the reason he’s rumored to be ending his reign in the State Senate?
Update – This just in from Mark Hebert:
State senator Gary Tapp has confirmed rumors that were circulating at the end of the 2009 session: he won’t be running for reelection.
The Shelbyville paper has more.

jim king’s the true homophobe. it’s funny that a gay journalist is so easily paid off by one of the largest anti-gay people in the, while hypocritically bashing others i guess everybody’s got a price, eh jake?

Oh, right, I’m soooo paid off by Jim King.
I am gay. I’m not a journalist. The ad contract with King Southern Bank has never impacted our coverage of Jim King or Katie King. Reference: Everything I’ve ever written.
I’ve known Jim King quite a while. As have other prominent local gay people. And he’s had life-long gay friends. No one I’ve ever spoken with – even his enemies – think he’s a homophobe. Suspected of being involved in the Herndon mailer? Yes. But merely suspected.
It’s interesting that David Daley and one other employee of the Courier-Journal have taken it upon themselves to trash me about town, accusing me of being paid off by Jim King.

No rumor. Shelbyville paper has the press release.
Guess this means he’ll launch a blizzard of hate bills next year since he’s got nothing to lose.
