Here’s Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Charlie Moore’s latest email blast to the State Central Executive Committee:
On our conference call last Thursday I hope you saw a snapshot of our work here at headquarters. Thank you to all of you who were able to participate.
When you elected me Chair I told you I wanted to hear from party members with their suggestions of individuals who could fill the important role of Vice Chair. I received many suggestions from across the state and gave each respectful consideration.
After careful reflection, I recommended to Governor Steve Beshear that Carolyn Belcher be named Vice Chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party. Governor Beshear enthusiastically accepted the recommendation.
The Governor and I agree that Carolyn is perfect fit for this important position.
She is a serious and dedicated person who brings to the Party a deep understanding of business and financial matters as a Certified Public Accountant and a former agent for the United States Department of Treasury.
Carolyn understands the political process well from her experience representing the 72nd District, serving Bourbon, Bath, Fayette and Nicholas Counties. In the Legislature she championed consumer issues and was a staunch friend of small business. She gained the respect of her colleagues throughout the state, and the affection and confidence of her constituents.
In 2007, Carolyn was elected Judge Executive of Bath County, where she continues to serve in an exemplary fashion during difficult economic times.
Additionally, Carolyn has always been a leader in civic affairs; she has a long history serving her community and state on boards and councils addressing issues from finance and women’s health, to law enforcement and recreation.
In accordance with the Party Bylaws, the Governor will formally present Carolyn Belcher as his choice to the State Central Executive Committee for your consideration and vote. I have scheduled a meeting of the State Central Executive Committee for Saturday, April 11th, at 10:00 p.m. EST at the Wendell H. Ford Democratic Headquarters.
I recognize this meeting is being called on the day before Easter. I hope this does not cause a great inconvenience for you, but I believe certifying Carolyn as our new Vice-Chair is important enough to call a meeting as quickly as possible. I felt a Saturday morning meeting would be preferable to holding one on a week night. Please bear with us under these circumstances and understand how much your attendance will be appreciated.
This meeting also will serve as our 2nd quarter State Central Executive Committee meeting.
Allison Webster will be calling you next week to confirm your attendance. We really need your participation in this important meeting, and as a reminder, proxy voting is not allowed in the selection of Party officers.
Thank you,
Charles E. Moore
Chair
First of all – a meeting on Easter Weekend? Really? That won’t fly.
Second – Carolyn Belcher will be Vice-Chair. Whattaya know.

So Cyber, other then your generic description, who is this Carolyn Belcher? What kind of votes did she cast in Frankfort? Left wing, right wing, pro-government? How is she at being County Judge?
