Blue Grass Airport Swindlers Should Do Time

March 2nd, 2009 · 2 Comments

We’ve been digging through the Blue Grass Airport audit conducted by Crit Luallen’s office the past couple days. Here’s what’s on our mind…

  • How much did the Blue Grass Airport swindlers spend at Liquor Barn during the last three years?
    $10,258.89
  • Amazon.com?
    $4,966.58
  • Godiva?
    $6,092.53
  • Horseback riding?
    $1,499.51
  • Lunch, dinner, coffee, pizza and random meals?
    $126,646.51

After poring through this audit, we have the sneaking suspicion that someone was running their own business on airport time, with airport computers and airport money. All kinds of cash went to Applian and other software companies, hundreds went to Network Solutions for domain name registration,, hundreds of dollars for software to run Windows on a Mac, a web service to point a domain name to a private computer, and there were dozens upon dozens of other small software purchases that one would use for something outside of airport operations.

Hopefully the OAG will dig in.

No sympathy for these buffoons. Like Mary Lou Marzian once said on the House floor, these M-Effers make us wanna puke.

Godiva chocolate? Six thousand bucks. A compliant, lackey Board. PRICELESS?

Jennifer Hewlett reported this morning that the previous board chair went toe to toe with Gobb and warned Lovely and others to watch him. The entire board should be replaced.
