Greg Stumbo said today that SB68 would be assigned to the House Judiciary committee if it makes it out of the State Senate. But we hear he’s planning on assigning the legislation to Health & Welfare, chaired by Tom Burch. We’ll believe it when we see it.

Hahaha. Martin Cothran is terrified of women. And his entire world is crashing down around him now that a drag queen has become a homecoming queen. [Marty Cockring 1 & Marty Cockring 2]

Jim Bunning is being eaten alive. By Republicans. [Bluegrass Politics]

Hey, David Adams, the budget overview of the U.S. Government for Fiscal Year 2010 is now available online, live, on the internets. Ah, the Ben Chandler memories are ripe. [White House Office of Management and Budget]

This is why we should tax fat people. So they stop getting swindled. The Office of the Attorney General today announced an agreement– in partnership with 26 other states and Washington, D.C.– that Coke, Nestle and Beverage Partnership Worldwide have resolved questionable claims that Enviga, a green tea beverage, will burn extra calories that results in weight loss. The states will receive $650,000 of which $15,800 will be headed to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Enviga claimed consuming three cans per day would result in burning 60-100 extra calories per day. “My office will not tolerate misleading claims that prey on consumers’ intentions to improve their health,” General Conway said. See? If we taxed fat, we wouldn’t have this problem. TAX TAX TAX! [Press Release]

It’s time for accountability within the Democratic Party. Let’s start in Kentucky. [Accountability Now PAC]

At a press conference today Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Department of Education Secretary Anne Duncan urged swift action and accountability in disbursing education-related recovery funds. Biden and Duncan also outlined funds rolling to the states: $48 billion to help states balance budgets with much of it going direction into education, $31 billion in Pell grants and tuition tax credits to make college affordable, $5 billion for early childhood development, $25 billion in construction bonds for school modernization, $25 billion for Title 1 and Special Education and $5 billion to push reforms and reward excellence. [White House Press Release]

Usually we don’t take much issue with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary or the Southern Baptist Convention. Mainly because people like Dr. Al Mohler have come a long way in realizing that gays aren’t the devil and they’re working to create major adoption programs. But this is hogwash. And it’s absolutely hilarious. Devoting an entire sermon to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and complaining that it promotes lesbianism? Hahahahaha. Oh, God, can’t effing breathe. Wonder how this dude would react if he knew that Jake, a dangerous, sinful known homosexual is friends with all kinds of Southern Baptists and they like him? They’re friends with a gay and they like it. [Towers Online]

Really? Jerry Abramson and Steve Henry pal Larry Zielke want to screw firefighters AGAIN? Jerry continues to screw police, firefighters and the city at large and thinks he’ll be able to win re-election. Hoo boy. Hope he keeps this mess up. Ann Oldfather will eat them alive because she is never wrong, ever, the end. [C-J]

Americans will finally be able to see the cost of wars abroad. Photographs of returning war dead will now be allowed by the Pentagon. [Huffington Post]

There’s nothing wrong with ensuring that the government doesn’t indirectly employ illegal immigrants. But the least people like Bob Damron could do is make sure potential legislation is not going to rape public coffers. [Bluegrass Politics]

We stand with Johnathan Gay, a terrible Republican from hell (we’re kidding!) in supporting House Bill 288. It could and will make medical services more efficient, affordable and plentiful in eastern Kentucky and other rural areas of Kentucky. PASS THIS LEGISLATION! [Cyberhillbilly]

Hahaha! Pee alert! Mitch McConnell Pee alert! [Jason Grote]

Does Republic Bank & Trust Company condone wasting time being a bigot while you’re at work? Surely your first break isn’t this early in the morning.
