Jon Draud’s Car Controversy Still Fresh

February 9th, 2009 · 6 Comments

Remember Jon Draud and his fancy, expensive state vehicle? If not, check these three stories out.

The Commonwealth is trying to sell Draud’s overpriced and unnecessary Chrysler 300 on eBay for a second time.

The listing will run through Friday, unless it sells before then, Mitchell said.

Draud, 70, initially said he would reimburse taxpayers for the car, which he ordered with $13,000 in add-ons.

But shortly after resigning from his job last month following a stroke Sept. 5, Draud said circumstances had changed.

“I have not been able to drive the car for four months, and I am not sure if I will ever be able to drive the car again,” Draud said in a phone interview last month. “If I were staying in the position, I would have purchased it, but it would be nonsensical of me to purchase the vehicle now.”

The car, which had a base price of $18,101, ended up costing the state $30,697.

Nice, eh?

What we love the most is that Draud resigned because he had a stroke but is mysteriously able to run for political office/consider running for political office.

We LOVE wasted taxpayer dollars! Keep it up, Frankfort. It’s why we keep electing you.

What office is he thinking about running for?

Don’t recall, but it was mentioned a week or so ago.

I’ll look when I’m done with the news day.

Evidently, Draud suffers from Chronic Defiant Asshat Syndrome (a.k.a. Bunning Syndrome). Here’s how it works: If they piss you off, you do (or continue doing) the wrong thing.

    Spiteful, n’est pas?

    Jesus Chrysler!

If Jesus wanted 70-year-olds to begin new careers, he wouldn’t afflict them with strokes. Get a clue, old man, and keep your ass at home.

If this pompus ass gets elected after this, the voters get what they deserve.
