Jake, how in the world can they comment intelligently and honorably on a document they’ve never read? Sounds like 95% of the US Senate that gave Bush a blank check to war on Iraq without bothering to read the intelligence report (all of 72 pages). Jeez, God help us.

That said, the Cotton-Allen Audit probably won’t ever be released by Jim and Shirley. Sources within the University tell me that they were forced to officially comment on the document without ever having physically laid eyes on it. And sources within Shirley’s office tell me the document is, indeed, complete… despite the official line that it’s still in the works.

Jake, let’s not be too naive about the UofL. Are you really surprised about its “no sunshine” policy? Open records requests are made to insure that the public can observe its institutions (those they pay for) and hold them accountable. When an institution refuses such requests, it raises glaring red flags about itself and black marks against its name. Go, red and black Cards.

Of course, Bunning would be leading in the polls NOW. But wait until the political season hits the 7th inning stretch. The Bunster is waddling about because of his name recogntion (from his baseball fame days mostly). When he gets a real opponent (hopefully Conway, not Mongiardo), the Dems will be hitting multiple grand slams off the tamed Tiger.

Funny, isn’t it, that a Daily Kos poll shows Bunning ahead against all comers?

That’s a Daily Kos poll, not some Republican pollster’s work product that you and all the other D’s would be screaming “tainted” over.

“The Fix” (Washington Post political blog) has just named Bunning the most vulnerable US Senator in the nation. Reports are that The Bunion is hiring plastic surgeons to remove sullen facial lines, an acting coach to work on his grumpy git, and a therapist to soothe his irritable mannerisms. Nothing can be done about his lack of intellect and inability to be even a toy “action figure.”
P.S. Mongiardo and Conway must be licking their chops.
