According the Jefferson Poole's latest tantrum, the fact that Clarence Thomas was booed while Scalia, Roberts and Alito weren't means one thing: "[I]f you're honest with youself, you will admit that it is racism."

There are many non-racist reasons Thomas was booed, not the least of which is that he's the most manifestly unqualified justice on the High Court.

I suspect that if Dubya had managed to ramrod Harriet Miers through confirmation (which proved impossible) she would have been booed too.

Jefferson, the thing that kept me equally nauseated and livid through the past eight years of shrill-shrieking fraud was the constant executive assaults on my intelligence. Al Gonzales, for example, whored out the Justice Department to the White House repeatedly and yet couldn't seem to recall anything under oversight.

How does one enforce any semblance of accountability with buffoons who pretend to have no memory?

I'm sure you'd like to think I'm anti-Hispanic. Quite the contrary. I've slept with more Hispanics than you've shaken hands with.

That's why I find promoting incompetent minorities to high-profile positions so offensive. I can't imagine a more effective way to advance racism than that.

Miers and Gonzales were sycophantic shills for Dubya and Thomas is a sycophantic shill for Tony Scalia.

I suppose that last observation makes me (1) anti-black, (2) anti-Italian or (3) both.

Jefferson, if you're honest with yourself, you will admit that you're being more disingenuous than honest when you present your opinions as facts, accuse people with whom you differ of racism and impose your narrow views on the rest of the free world.

Free your mind and seek the truth, for a change.

Furthermore, it's supremely immature (not to mention impolitic) to insult your readers.

"Can't figure that one out? Try thinking more."
