On Spreading Homophobia In Kentucky…

December 17th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Some people don’t know how to quit while they’re ahead. The rank homophobia from a couple days ago apparently wasn’t enough:

Yet again Jake “please pay attention to me” Payne in the ass at Page One is sounding off their true opinion of Daniel Mongiardo. It is getting boring.

When a large blog such as Page One blasts a public official with such vigor as they do Mongiardo, we must talk about the real intention.

It is no secret that Payne is gay, I think everyone knows that. He is either cowering to the gay lobby or he actually believe Mongiardo’s support for S.B. 245 will really turn some heads in Kentucky.

Now outside mysterious, dangerous, homosexual forces are apparently organizing against Daniel Mongiardo! Oh noes! The fear!

Outside forces are, apparently, trying to organize themselves against Mongiardo.
(HERE) But as we all know, they will receive little to no support from anyone holding statewide office or anyone who aspires to run for statewide office. So I guess it is useless to even talk about it.

I have no idea when or if Mongiardo will declare his candidacy, so please do not email me 100 times a day asking. I promise as soon as I find out I will let our readers know.

Hopefully this will send a clear message to everyone spreading hate and discontent on the web that Mongiardo is the front runner as of today.

These outside forces are using the torch of intolerance as their crutch for their argument against Mongiardo. But whenever anyone disagrees with their platform, that’s when the real intolerance begins. People can disagree with one another, but as long as these outside forces keep advertising their hate campaign, they will continue to be ignored.

It’s news to us that a discussion about legislation Daniel Mongiardo actually sponsored is “hate and discontent.” It’s news to use that a discussion about actions Daniel Mongiardo actually took is “hate and discontent.”

All of this is coming from an individual who professes to be Mongiardo’s “best friend.” Upon speaking with Mongiardo’s staff, however, they deny any such relationship emphatically. And they refuse to provide an on-the-record response.

We’ll leave you with this, from David:

Shackleford claims to support equal rights and civil rights. And yet he is unwilling to stand up for what he believes in.

Are all men created equal? Or are we to be judged separately by the whims of fancy leaders who will sell anyone down the river if it just makes them more powerful?

-SNIP-

Maybe if Dr. Dan and William Shackleford read the party’s platform, they’d realize it’s either time to get out of this party or that they should be putting their energy where they claim their heart is.

It’s cute and funny to hide behind homophobia in Kentucky. It’s fun to pretend you love the gays while simultaneously attempting to revise history. But facts are facts and the record speaks for itself.

It’s also nearly 2009 and we’re at an historic point, to say the least. We’re about to inaugurate Barack Obama. We now allow the mentally disabled (Rod Blagojevich) to serve as governor. And in Kentucky, we went nearly an entire election cycle without the gays being used as a wedge issue (no thanks to organized labor, anyway). So it’s high time we quit this crap. It gets us no where.

If Daniel Mongiardo, William Shackleford and anyone else wants to continually shoot people down like this, bring it. What’s the old saying? “Let those without sin cast the first stone.” ?? Welp, those in glass houses should consider that their walls are transparent before taking on this anti-gay mission…  while at the same time professing they support equality. They can’t rewrite history.  No matter how hard they try.

I’m of the opinion that Shackelford writes this stuff on his blog hoping Page One will post and link to his blog thus bringing some traffic to his lame mockery of a political venue. I, too, have been told that Mongiardo tolerates this guy; no BFF going on there despite what Shack claims.

“It gets us no where” ???

Isn’t that what politics is all about? Mud slinging and telling people what they want to hear is really all any of these guys are capable of. Everything else is all happenstance.
