Is it true? is Governor Steve Beshear really planning to support Daniel Mongiardo in a run for the U.S. Senate?
The guy who sponsored the marriage amendment (SB 245)?
And is Crit Luallen really going to be appointed Lt. Governor?
That’s the hot rumor these days.

I was closely involved in a 2004 congressional campaign. Mongiardo didn’t just co-sponsor the amendment, he went around the state actively promoting its passage. If you think this is bad, just wait until the editorial boards at the Courier-Journal and the Herald-Leader line up behind Mongiardo and rationalize support for his candidacy. Because the only things that matter in politics is raising money, raising MORE money, and the perceived ability to win. Stances on the issues are just minor details.

this really makes me hope that your Conway prediction/rumor/what-have-you comes to be. I like Beshear a whole hell of a lot more than Mongiardo, and that mostly just says something about how much I dislike Mongiardo…

OK, you political types need to make up your minds. Is Dr. Dan a homo or is he a homophobe?
In the past four years I’ve heard him described as both.
And can we get new border states? Tennessee and West Virginia suck.

You’re still here, Republican?
Anyway, I don’t know or care about Mongiardo’s sexual orientation, but Larry Craig proves you can indeed be both a homo and a homophobe. Geez…

I will not support Mongardio because of his stance on Mountaintop Removal. Especially coming from someone who is a doctor and can see the problems of bad and poisoned drinking water in his patients, and overlook such issues for political reasons, does not deserve my vote. I am getting tired of democrats nominating people who are not real democrats, and I will not support nominees because of party alone.
Does anyone remember the US Senate candidate, Bruce Lunsford, who was forced on us by Steve Beshear and the DSSC? We got McConnell again. Well if we get another fake democrat like Mongardio as the nominee, Bunning will win again.

gene,
It was 74.55%, not 80%.
In Jefferson County, where Dan M. got almost 60% of the vote, and where he ran his margin up enough to almost win, the amendment got just over 60% of the vote.
One must wonder how many of the 125,525 Jefferson Countians who voted against the amendment will also vote against Dan M. if given the chance?

It would make sense from a political perspective for Beshear to do so.

“Jaded Dude” is so jaded he doesn’t recognize sarcasm when he sees it.
And Larry Craig proved nothing.
