Steve Beshear’s Message to Jennifer Moore

November 21st, 2008 · 2 Comments

Excuse us while we vomit and then choke to death on the hypocrisy of what you’re about to read.

Just received the latest email blast from the Kentucky Democratic Party:

Dear Friends,

Over the past twelve months we have been witnesses to history. The election of Barack Obama represents the overwhelming desire of the American people to change the way things are done in Washington and a desire to bring the solutions Democrats offer to the vexing challenges we face as a nation and Commonwealth.

Here in Kentucky we have worked hard to bring change; change to business as usual in Frankfort, change that offers every Kentuckian opportunity. I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and support of the Kentucky Democratic Party to help bring about this change. We also owe a very special thanks to the Chair and Vice-Chair of the KDP, Jennifer Moore and Nathan Smith, and the entire staff at the party. I could not have asked for a better team to lead us through the 2008 elections.

Over the past year, Jennifer’s service and leadership to the KDP has been top-notch. Her commitment to the Democratic Party is unwavering. Not only is she the youngest state party chair in the country, she is the brightest and most committed chair we could ask for. I am grateful to her service and proud of her work and look forward to continuing our work together for the Democratic Party. I am also grateful that Nathan Smith devoted the past year to the party as vice-chair. Nathan worked hard to make the necessary inroads into northern Kentucky and I am proud to say we have made northern Kentucky a battleground area thanks to his efforts.

Under Jennifer and Nathan’s leadership and our hard-working staff, we have made tremendous strides in the areas of candidate support, technology, fundraising, and communications. I hope you will take a moment to read below about some of the party’s efforts over these last twelve months to support our Democratic candidates and help to continue to turn the Bluegrass blue.

Again, thank you for your support and commitment to the Kentucky Democratic Party.

Sincerely,

Governor Steven L. Beshear

Let’s just say this is not the same song Beshear Administration officials are singing to us and everyone else in private. They know who they are. And they know we don’t appreciate the hypocrisy.

The email blast also contained a few paragraphs bragging about KDP field staff after touting fundraising numbers. Kind of ironic, we think, now that we have revealed that the party can’t pay any of its bills, consultants or staff.

Tomorrow’s meeting is shaping up to be a giant cluster-eff.

I got the same email, and as I read it, I thought to myself, “I guess Jake as well sourced as he claims he is. Or maybe his sources enjoy lying to him and getting away with it because they know he’s not smart enough to figure it out.”
