Chickenhawk and WATB Mitch McConnell is one of the wealthiest U.S. Senators in the country. He ranks at just 19th in terms of personal wealth. And he has the nerve to tell average Kentuckians that he’s one of us. He’s worth at $13 million or so and acts like he’s s normal, so everyday. Fat chance, Mr. Elitist! [PolWatchers]

Oh, speaking of Mitch McConnell. He took money from Saddam Hussein’s lobbyist. How fancy is that? William Timmons worked closely with those who contracted with Saddam Hussein’s regime on a deal for the sale of Iraqi oil. Those two later pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges for acting as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein’s government. Mitch took $3,000 from him. $1,000 for his campaign in 2007 and $2,000 for his Bluegrass Committee PAC in 1997 and 2003. [FEC 1, 2, 3 & Huffington Post]

You can bet your rear end that UofL will CLOSELY monitor the use of these funds and that the NSF will watch the grant like a hawk during this post-Felner era. [Business First]

The Drive for 60. Bruce Lunsford is featured in the latest edition of TIME in a story about how he’s likely to smoke Mitch McConnell out of his U.S. Senate hidey hole this November. Oh, how times have changed, ladies. Changed, changed, changed. Just like the, you know, change that we’ll experience in our late 40s. [TIME]
Barbara Boxer mentioned Bruce Lunsford in a blast email. Interesting. This should send the mouth-breathers into a heated rage of foaming. [American Chronicle]
