An Update on the Race for the Speakership

September 15th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Actually, Marty the Homophobe, Greg Stumbo isn’t asking people for their support. He’s asking people whether or not he should run. That’s called political posturing, as Joe Gerth so eloquently made clear this morning.

Greg has at best 16 votes votes and he has openly admitted in the press that he knows he does not have the votes to win. So let’s deal with those facts, sweet cheeks. Get lubed up and ready for it.

In fact, Jakes say he “can prove” he doesn’t have the votes. He is still apparently under the impression that he’s a better vote counter than Stumbo because he has gone around asking reps where they are on it and they’re telling him they’re not committed.

Well, let’s just say the first thing a lobbyist learns (and I’ve been one for 17 years) is that you can’t trust what a legislator tells you. You can’t lie to them, but they can and will lie to you with impunity. Some day we’ll give Jake a primer on how such things work. But for now, we’re just going to let experience teach him a little lesson.

See that, folks? Greg Stumbo and his allies like Larry Clark have aligned themselves with Martin Cothran, chief gay hater and all-around bigot of the Family Foundation of Kentucky. Because that’s what a political opportunist and sell-out does.

Is that the kind of person you want leading the Kentucky House? The kind of person who sells out for personal gain? The kind of person who aligns himself with Martin Cothran, one of the chief haters in the Commonwealth of Kentucky? The kind of person who ignores his family and loved ones in favor of courting people like this insufferabe bigot?

Yeah, didn’t think so. Not even Republicans want to step in that hate-filled tripe. Call the Republican Party of Kentucky and ask about it– they’ll distance themselves from the bigots faster than Jim Gooch can eat a side of beef.

But keep on keepin on, Greg & Marty. Keep peddling your homophobia and bullshit. Keep on sending Mary Karen out to attack Diane Brumback. Keep on complaining because people tell the truth. Keep selling the good people of the Commonwealth down the river because your ridiculous egos can’t find satisfaction in reality. We’ll see where it gets you in life.

P.S. Yes, bigot, I’m for real. It must be terrible having a known homosexual call you out. And we’re just calling you what you are: a homophobic bigot. But keep on crying about it. It’s nice.

Oh, Marty Cothran. What a loser.

If your experience is anything like mine, he’ll repeatedly ignore or misrepresent your argument until you just start ignoring him. And since what he wants is an echochamber where his bigoted ideas won’t be challenged, I guess it’s a decent strategy for him.
