Union-bashing is definitely disguised as concern for workers. You bet your booties it’s a McConnell ploy. [H-L]

The McConnell campaign sure likes to lose its shiz when the Lunsford campaign complains about anything. So it’s funny to watch the McConnell camp squirm over Lunsford’s latest campaign ad. [McConnell's "Blog"]

WTVQ in Lexington has killed it’s 5:00 P.M. newscast. And people wonder why Lexington is losing its best and brightest by the truckload. [H-L]

The United States no longer bans entry to the country if you’re HIV positive. It only took until 2008 for us to lift the ban. [CBS News]

John Cheves has a great profile of Crit Luallen and the office of State Auditor that’s a must-read. She needs to run for governor in 2011. [H-L]

Jim Bunning’s staff is continuing to jump ship. Is this a sign that he won’t run in 2011? [C-J]

With the exception of Greg Stotlemeyer and the now-retired Brad James, I have rarely associated WTVQ news being associated with Lexington’s “best and brightest”, and I doubt the cancellation of a third place newscast when much of Lexington’s best and brightest are doing something other than watching TV is really going to cause a brain drain.

I used associated twice in one sentence — obviously I am not among Lexington’s best and brightest this early in the morning. :-)

Brett Hall had the Bunning story right last year, IMO. Bunning will opt out and Grayson will run.

I think Trey is better suited for the Governor’s mansion where he’s less likely to turn into a Washington hack. But what do I know? I’m just a registered Democrat who should be shunned for supporting a Republican. (OH NOES! ha)

Crit is my hero and I pray for her continued good health so she can continue to kick butt. It’s time that we put the smart woman out in front and let her lead. Crit, whatever job you want next you have my support.

Oh, and by the way, there is a little mess that your former collegue Jim Ramsey created that needs your attention in here the ‘ville!

from what I hear from GOP insiders, Anne Northup was on track to be the party’s pick for Bunning’s seat, but she ruined her chances when she ran against Fletcher in ’06
