Check out this hilarious clip of WHAS11′s Mark Hebert trying to ask Mitch McConnell about his ties to the corrupt George W. Bush:

McConnell is petrified of unscripted moments and their potential for unpleasant surprises.

This fear will become more evident as the campaign progresses. Already, he’s behaving as a stealth candidate – and it’s not even Labor Day yet!

Consider the evidence from Fancy Farm alone:

    · He silently walked away when Hebert asked him if Dubya had been a good president.

    · He departed in record time – without further dirtying his grubby paws by shaking hands with his constituents.

    · He didn’t even mention his opponent by name, opting instead to cast senile Jim “Beanball” Bunning as his surrogate. (Headline: “Bush lap dog enlists feeble attack dog.”)

This all paints a picture of a hyper-cautious campaign strategy, which the Lunsford campaign can capitalize on mightily if it’s smart.

McConnell is so vulnerable on so many fronts, he’s probably trying to figure out how to elude the perennial, time-honored forum KET provides.

The consensus is that trying to blame Lunsford for high gas prices is silly, amateurish and ineffective. I mean, who really believes that a non-officeholder is more culpable than an incumbent U.S. senator who’s had a prominent policymaking role across the spectrum for the past 24 years?

McConnell’s attack simply doesn’t resonate. If this is the best he can do, then he really must be running scared.

McConnell is detached and out of touch with working Kentuckians. He’s become the quintessential Washington insider.

He has presided over the systematic shrinkage of the middle class.

He’s been bought and paid for by high-powered lobbyists and special interest operatives.

Had enough? I hope so, because we can’t suffer another six years of this unbridled madness. It’s high time to hobble the whores and reverse America’s downward spiral.

Mitch is still afraid from the last time Hebert caught him on camera:

All this as well as denying his and his office’s role in Heather Ryan’s firing! It’s all on audiotape for cripes sake!
