Haha, yeah, so, jacked up and weird story… so much for that slow news day.
Campbell County Democratic Party Chair Ken Mullikin’s home was raided by Fort Thomas police after someone at his home allegedly took part in a kiddie sex chat on the internets.
We can’t even comment. Wow. Just check this Enquirer story out:
Fort Thomas police launched an investigation after being contacted by the FBI. Federal agents claim someone using an IP address – a unique signature for an individual computer – from Mullikin’s home was chatting online about sexually molesting girls, according to an affidavit used to obtain the search warrant.
Someone from that IP address logged onto a chat room under the sign-on name “MomJane” and asked an FBI agent posing as a child molester if they had “ever spanked a very young one,” according to the affidavit. The agent is based in Maryland and monitors chat rooms in which people advertise access to child pornography.
The person using the screen name “MomJane” claimed to be a woman and chatted about how she and her husband had each abused a 4-year-old girl, according to the affidavit. Some of the chat described graphic sex acts with girls ages 3 to 4.

Campbell County Democratic Party officials were stunned at the news.
“This is a shock to all of us,” said labor leader Jim Cole of Campbell County, who had operated a political consulting business with Mullikin.
He said reporters covering the case knew more details than the party did on Tuesday afternoon.
“It is important to point out there are no charges,” Cole added. “But we’re dumbfounded over what happened.”

One thing about you guys is, like me, you try to call it like you see it — NO partisan B. S. (can I say that?!)
So I like reading your blog, and will keep doing so, as long as you stay that way.

Anybody remember earlier this year when a former chair of the Boone County Republican Party was sentenced to community service for fraudulently claiming Vietnam War service while running for County Clerk in 2006?
Conviction for stolen valor, suspicion of child porn – is there any depth to which KY repug “leaders” won’t sink?

Uh, Yellow. This investigation is about a Dem.

Mike, If you’re a Democrat you’re already only semi-literate. I think we should give Yellow a pass. He really can’t help it.

Let’s keep discussion on-topic, kids.
But it’s interesting that the party that wants to abolish public education in favor of religious brainwashing would bring up literacy.

It is now being reported that Mullikin has resigned as
Democratic party chair in Campbell.

Why are we looking so much at this sick mans party affiliation, instead of the fact that he’s a man, furthermore, a father, with a sickness that needs to be removed from society. God only knows if this is fantasy or fact but he does have a duaghter……?
I only pray that this man didn’t do to a child what someone in his home has described.
Can’t you politicians, at least for a moment forget about hurting the other party by showing what “he did”. This is no reflection on anyone other than him, not his affiliations, his religion, his race….nothing. I’m so sick of seeing “smear campaigns” that when something like this happens everyone who’s “political” runs to a computer to ruin the other party. It sicken me!

I can’t stop now! Every comment on her but one, refers to the political affiliation of this man. You polititcal people make me sick. This is about a man, with children who has some serious sexual issues and all you want to do is discuss politics. You people are the reason many Americans don’t trust politicians and many don’t vote.
This is not what America is all about and you know it. Brainwashing is a strong subject but just look at youselves!

Actually, there’s no evidence that Mullikin is responsible for anything. And until there is? He’s innocent until proven guilty.

I totally agree with you Jake. Someone tell me why politics and party affiliation have to come into it. Give this man the benefit of the doubt and the legal right to be proven guily before crucifying him for his political affiliation.
I never even heard what party Charles manson was affiliated with. I’ll bet that is because no one would benefit by trying to smear a republican or democrat over what he did.

It’s relevant because he’s the Democratic Party Chairperson. That’s kind of a big role to play and he’s well-known.

When Christian Bale was just arrested for battering his mom, was it relevant that he is an actor playing Batman? Yes, because that is the context in which his story became famous. Should the conversation move to something along the lines of “is this indicative of the pressures of Hollywood?” I would say that is in bounds as well. Same thing here.

If the chidren were spanked & the agent wishes to call it abuse, he’s making an unreachable stretch. What I want to see is the affidavit. If he doesn’t accurately describe the “acts” then this is just more pandering to the White House and the bush-baby brigade.
